Antonio Conte Specials: Can the new Tottenham manager win a trophy this season?

As has been well documented, Antonio Conte’s managerial record over the course of the last decade has been pretty spectacular.
The Italian has won five league titles in seven seasons at club level across spells at Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan.
During that time he’s only finished outside of the top-two once, he’s also lifted the FA Cup, had a runners-up finish in the Europa League, been crowned the LMA Manager of the Year, and scooped the Serie A equivalent three times.
While few will expect Conte to wave a magic wand and instantly transform new club Tottenham into title challengers, he will be expected to end the club’s trophy drought which dates back over 5,000 days to the 2007/08 League Cup triumph under Juande Ramos.
With that said, Paddy Power have handed Conte odds of just 2/1 to deliver the north London club silverware this season.
Spurs, who are 9th after 10 games, are priced at 15/2 to secure a top-four finish. At the moment it looks like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man City will be jostling for the top-three spots, but the fight for fourth is wide open; Conte's troops will likely battle it out with West Ham, Leicester, Arsenal, and Man Utd, while Brighton and Wolves are right up there at the moment.
Spurs are evens to finish above Mikel Arteta's Arsenal and 11/4 to be placed higher than Man Utd, who for the moment at least are still managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Conte’s first league game is away to an underperforming Everton this weekend, followed by top-flight clashes with Leeds, Burnley, Brentford, and Norwich: the Italian has odds of 14/1 to win them all, while he’s 33/1 to beat Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man Utd this season.
Tottenham to win the Premier League under Conte before the end of the 2024/25 season is available at just 5/1, their last top-flight title triumph dates back to 1961 under legendary boss Bill Nicholson.
Conte can look forward to a League Cup quarter-final against West Ham, with Spurs priced at 7/1 to go on and lift the trophy.
They have yet to convince in the inaugural Europa League Conference, picking up four points from three group games so far, which leaves them 4th. However, it would come as a huge shock if they failed to advance to the next stage, and they remain right up there in the betting to win the competition at 13/2: It would be the club’s first European success since their 1983/84 triumph under Keith Burkinshaw.
Looking further afield, Conte’s new side are available at 14/1 to win the FA Cup for the first time in 31 years, a competition he previously won at Chelsea.
When it comes to Harry Kane, who has underperformed so far this season, the striker is 6/5 to score 15+ league goals this season, 9/1 to score 20+, and 66/1 to bag 25 or more - he’s currently got one goal to his name.
In terms of future incomings, Marcelo Brozovic can be backed at 2/1 to sign before February 3rd 2022, whereas Lautaro Martinez is 5/1.
While we’re hesitant to pour any cold water on what is a terrific appointment for Spurs, it could be worth noting that Conte has entered into the next Premier League manager to leave market at 40/1 (Bet Victor), he's 50/1 to depart before Christmas, and 5/1 to exit before the end of the season (Bet Victor).
For the really optimistic, Spurs can be backed at 100/1 to win the FA Cup and League Cup double, 500/1 to win the treble including the Europa League Conference, and 2,500/1 to add the Premier League into the mix for a sensational quadruple (all with Sky Bet).
