Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou Preview: Odds, Date, Start Time and How To Watch
If Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk's unification fight wasn't enough to whet the appetite, we now have another meteoric heavyweight boxing matchup to look forward to in Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou.
You're not going to want to miss out on any of the important details regarding 'Knockout Chaos' which is why we're here to provide you with everything you need to know about this exciting bout, from the date and location to updated odds and how to watch the mega fight.
When Is It?
On 15th January an announcement was made declaring that former UFC champion Francis Ngannou would step up to fight another juggernaut heavyweight in the boxing world, this time in former two-time unified heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua. The mouth watering clash will take place on Friday 8th March 2024. The unusual date is a conscious choice to help avoid a clash with the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix which takes place on 9th March.
Where Is It?
Just like each of this pair's last fights - Joshua vs Wallin on the Day of Reckoning card and Fury vs Ngannou - Riyadh in Saudi Arabia will house this epic contest. The country's capital has been the stage for many memorable events during Riyadh Season and before its finale the Kingdom Arena will once more be set to entertain the masses through this greatly desired slugfest.
Who Else Is Fighting?
In support of one of the biggest fights in combat sports history, another pair of heavyweights will look to further shape the division when Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker butt heads. The Chinese WBO interim world champion defends his title against former world champion Joseph Parker who stunned the boxing world with his unanimous decision win over Deontay Wilder on December 2023's Day of Reckoning co-main event.
Further down the card, WBC world champion Rey Vargas makes a first defence of his belt by taking on #1 contender, Nick Ball, the Liverpudlian featherweight. We also get to enjoy a Battle of Britain at lightweight as IBF European champion Mark Chamberlain challenges fellow European champion and Welshman Gavin Gwynne.
What Are the Odds?
Despite the controversy surrounding the ruling of October's contest in favour of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, that display was not enough to convince bookmakers that Francis Ngannou will defeat his next opponent. Anthony Joshua opens as the 1/4 favourite for this March throwdown, with 2/5 on offer for AJ to end the contest via KO or TKO.
The Cameroonian bomber, Ngannou, shocked the world by showcasing his boxing credentials against elite opposition last year and represents a 7/2 shot to gain a first W on his record in the sport. His most likely path to victory is through KO'ing his counterpart and odds of 5/1 have been whipped up for this outcome in Saudi.
Where Can I Watch It?
TV details have yet to be announced, so stay tuned, but what we can estimate is that the fight is guaranteed to be available through DAZN pay-per-view, around a cost of £20.
