Ajax vs. Napoli Betting Tips: Two standout players feature in our tips for this Group A clash
We roll into Matchday 3 of the Champions League group stages with a majority of the groups finely poised, and today we’ll be focusing on a huge game in Group A.
Ajax vs Napoli Tips
Napoli lead the way in the group, after a stunning victory on the opening day against Liverpool, followed up by a thumping result away at Rangers. They travel to Amsterdam to face Ajax, who themselves enjoyed a big win over the Scottish side in their opening game, following that with a late loss at Liverpool, where they could and probably should have taken at least a point out of the game.
With Liverpool expected to beat Rangers at Anfield on Tuesday night, a win for Napoli could put them six clear of Ajax ahead of the return game next week, whilst the Dutch side will look to join the Serie A leaders on six points in the group so far.
As ever, we’ve previewed the game, and picked out two tips that have caught our eye.
If something isn’t broken, why fix it? Mohammed Kudus was part of our 39/1 Champions League treble on the last Tuesday it graced our screens that oh so nearly landed.
The Ghanaian has started the season on fire for Ajax, scoring seven goals in his opening 11 games, including a goal in each of his first two UCL games this campaign. He showed his class in their last game away at Liverpool, turning away from Virgil Van Dijk in the box, to rifle his finish past Alisson into the roof of the goal.
This game should be all accounts be very open, with both sides favouring attacking approaches, and this should grant Kudus plenty of chances in front of goals.
Next up, the potential signing of the summer takes our focus. €10m is all it took for Napoli to snatch Kvicha Kvaratskhelia from Georgian side Dinamo Batumi, and what a bargain it’s turned out to be.
Already dubbed ‘Kvaradona’ from some of the Naples natives, Kvaratskhelia has dazzled his way through Serie A this season, scoring five and assisting twice in his opening eight games. It was his performance against Liverpool, where he also got an assist, that made people sit up and take notice, as he embarrassed Trent Alexander-Arnold and the Liverpool backline time and time again. With Napoli and Ajax looking relatively equal, don’t be surprised if a quick counter sees the Georgian dazzler pop up with an assist.
