The opening race on Day is the Grade Dawn Run Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, a race that has been dominated by Willie Mullins since its inception in 2016 . Mullins has won five of the eight renewals, and he saddles the favourite again this year.

This race is a key pointer to the following year’s Mares’ Hurdle, with several winners going on to glory in the Grade 1.

Bambino Fever (5/2) -  is the hot favourite, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend. She is unbeaten in three starts and has looked a potential superstar. She has been backed by two national newspaper tipsters.

Carrigmoornaspruce (4/1) - no surprise to see her doing well over hurdles,  she's back against her own sex here and rates solid each-way material.

Charme De Faust (5/1) - Paul Townend was complimentary about all parts of her game after she won a Thurles maiden. whether she's wise enough after just two runs for a race of this nature is questionable but she's clearly talented.
