Neil McDonald, the interim manager of Walsall, has worked his way through the ranks, with his most recent permanent spell in charge of Blackpool.

He started off as a coach at Bolton and he was Iain Dowie's assistant at Crystal Palace before taking his first steps into management with Carlisle and a five week spell with Swedish side Osterunds, who he saved from relegation.
