Gareth Southgate
Gareth Southgate
Gareth Southgate has been manager of England since 2016.
Southgate, who was initially interim manager following Sam Allardyce's departure, has since lead The Three Lions through to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, the Euro 2020 final, and the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup/
Southgate's first managerial position came at Middlesbrough in the summer of 2006 after Steve McClaren left to take charge of England, despite not holding any of the required coaching qualifications.Under Southgate Boro finished 12th, then 13th, before suffering relegation down to the Championship, with Southgate losing his job shortly into the new season.
In 2014 Southgate took charge of England's U21 team, with whom he led to the Final of Euro 2015, although England finished rock-bottom of their group, thus exiting early.
