Carlos Queiroz only took on the role of Iran head coach in September 2022, before this he was most recently the manager of Egypt whom he took to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations final, he did however previously look after the side from 2011 - 2019.

The Portuguese coach has also managed Portugal, Colombia, South Africa, Iran, and UAE at International level.

Queiroz spent a season in charge of Real Madrid, has managed Sporting, and had two successful spells as an assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Man Utd.
