World Cup Betting Tips: Back Costa Rica to be the lowest scorers in Qatar
The World Cup is almost upon us and our man @TipsterWizard has provided us with his best bets for the tournament in Qatar.
World Cup Tips
Argentina are one of the top favourites to win the World Cup this year, having gone unbeaten in 35 games including their whole World Cup qualifying campaign which comprised of 17 matches. They are coming into the World Cup off the back of a Copa America title after beating Brazil 1-0 in the final last year. They have a group comprising of Mexico, Poland and Saudi Arabia which makes them heavy favourites to qualify as the group winners and I am backing them to do exactly that. They have a fairly straightforward route to the knockout stages and will be motivated to top the group in hopes of avoiding France in the round of 16.

Brazil are the number one favourites to win the World Cup this year, having gone unbeaten in their last 15 games since the loss against Argentina in the Copa America final last year. They will come into this tournament in the number one spot in the FIFA rankings having had a near-perfect qualification campaign where they went unbeaten in 17 games, winning 14 of them and scoring a mammoth 40 goals while conceding just 5. Even though they have a slightly tricky group with the likes of Switzerland, Serbia and Cameroon up against them, I expect them to prove too strong for them and win all 3 games in the group stages to finish top of the pile.
Costa Rica finished fourth in a weak CONCACAF qualifying group and were fortunate to beat New Zealand in the play-off. They will be up against powerhouses Spain and Germany and a solid Japan side who conceded just 4 goals in the qualifiers. They have scored less than a goal per game in their qualifying campaign and with such tough opposition, we could see them getting eliminated without scoring a single goal. Considering these factors, 8.50 looks a big price and I am happy to take it with 1pt.
Brazil are firm favourites for the World Cup and Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers on the planet right now. They will be expected to go deep into the tournament which gives Alisson the chance to keep more clean sheets. They are one of the best defensive units in the tournament, having conceded just 5 goals in 17 games in the qualifiers and will be expected to keep the majority of their oppositions quiet. 5.50 is not a huge price but certainly worth taking with a 1pt stake as one of our outright bets.
