World Cup 2022: Abraham a nice price to make the England Squad

The prospect of mulled wine being thrown around beer gardens in England will become a possibility this year as the first ever winter World Cup takes place. Qatar will be hosting the tournament out in the middle east and we’ve taken a look at some of the latest prices to make the squad.
This week we’ve focussed our attention on the forwards that are in contention to make Gareth Southgate’s World Cup Squad. Tammy Abraham is a player who currently stands out in the betting and we’ve taken a look at his performances so far this season along with the odds available to make the squad. The prices shown below are from Sky Bet.

Odds to make the 23-man England Squad (Forwards)
- 1/20 - Raheem Sterling
- 1/18 - Harry Kane
- 1/12 - Marcus Rashford
- 1/10 - Jadon Sancho
- 1/2 - Mason Greenwood
- 10/11 - Dominic Calvert-Lewin
- 15/8 - Ollie Watkins
- 9/4 - Jarrod Bowen
- 3/1 - Tammy Abraham
- 4/1 - Callum Hudson-Odoi
- 4/1 - Patrick Bamford
- 5/1 - Danny Ings
- 5/1 - Ivan Toney
Tammy makes plenty of appeal at the current prices
After bagging himself a brace on Sunday against Empoli, Tammy Abraham became the first English player in Europe’s top-five leagues to score 10 league goals this season. After making the switch from Chelsea to Roma in the summer, Tammy has been enjoying life in Italy and his numbers are particularly impressive so far this season.
As well as his 10 goal haul in the league so far this season, Abraham has also netted six times in the Europa Conference League and now stands on 19 since the start of the season for both club and country. Goals against San Marino and Andorra in the Autumn Internationals will have pleased England manager Gareth Southgate with the 24-year-old now having ten senior caps and four international goals to his name.
Having a look at England’s most productive players so far this season across Europe’s top-five leagues and it’s Abraham who comes out on top with the most goal contributions so far this season
- Tammy Abraham 10G & 3A
- Mason Mount - 7G & 6A
- Jarrod Bowen - 6G & 7A
- Trent Alexander-Arnold - 2G & 10A
- Conor Gallagher - 7G & 3A
- Bukayo Saka - 6G & 4A
- Emile Smith-Rowe - 8G & 2A
- Jamie Vardy - 9G & 2A
With 12 goals in his last 12 games for Roma, Tammy is clearly a man in red hot form at the moment and with 3/1 on offer from Sky Bet for him to make the England World Cup Squad, he certainly represents some value compared to those around him in the betting.
Abraham has scored as many league goals as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood combined so far this season in the league and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Patrick Bamford both having injury-riddled seasons there’s certainly a case to be made for Tammy getting in there.
At the Euros England were allowed to field a 26-man squad and although that will be a smaller number for the World Cup with 23 we still think there’s a way Abraham can fight his way in. Since November 2021 only Robert Lewandowski (14) has scored more non-penalty goals across all competitions than Tammy Abraham (13) in Europe’s top-five leagues and under Jose Mourinho’s guidance he has flourished over the last few months.
