West Ham United vs. Sevilla Predictions: Wizard is expecting a low scoring affair
Live on BT Sports, West Ham host Sevilla in this all important Europa League clash at the London stadium this Thursday at 8pm. The hosts come into this in mixed form, having won two, lost three and drawn one in their last six games in all competitions. The first leg was a competitive affair which eventually ended in a 1-0 win for Sevilla and West Ham will have to pull off a comeback in front of their supporters if they are to keep their silverware hopes alive. As for Sevilla, they are a lot more experienced in this competition than their opponents and that could play a part going into the second leg. The Spanish side are sitting 2nd in their league and will certainly have eyes on the Europa League trophy after claiming a first leg advantage. They have not lost to an English side in England in the past five years and will be confident of pulling off a positive result here which would help them go through to the final eight of this competition.
A cracking Europa League clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with two of my best betting angles for this game included in the preview below:
West Ham United vs. Sevilla Tips
Team News:
Coufal, Ogbonna & Bowen are out for West Ham while Cresswell, Vlasic & Michail Antonio are doubtful.
Papu Gomez, Suso & Ocampos are out for Sevilla while Marcos Acuna, Lamela, Montiel, Diego Carlos & Karim Rekik are doubtful.
West Ham possible starting lineup:
Areola; Johnson, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice, Lanzini; Benrahma, Vlasic, Fornals
Sevilla possible starting lineup:
Bono; Navas, Kounde, Carlos, Augustinsson; Delaney, Rakitic; Corona, El-Haddadi, Martial; En-Nesryi
-Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Sevilla
-Over 0 shots in the match for Pablo Fornals
Sevilla have received a 2nd half card in their last seven out of eight games in all competitions. In the reverse leg, they were handed two yellow cards in the 2nd half. Considering we have a tight scoreline after the first leg, there is potential for this game to heat up specially in the 2nd half where cynical fouls and time wasting could get Sevilla players booked by referee Clement Turpin who is averaging over four cards per game this season.
As for Pablo Fornals, he has had eight shots in his last four games in all competitions and considering key absences in attack in the form of Antonio and Bowen, Fornals will have to step up here. He had one shot against Sevilla in the reverse leg and considering West Ham should have more of the ball here, I expect him to get a few attempts at goal so including one shot for him in our betbuilder seems a sensible option.
Combining these two selections gives us a solid betbuilder @ 4/5 and I am happy to stake 1pt on it as our main bet. Let’s hope we can continue our impressive run on these betbuilders.
West Ham have seen Under 2.5 goals in four of their last six games in all competitions. Their last three consecutive Europa League games have seen less than three goals as well. As for Sevilla, they are a solid defensive side specially away from home. They have seen under 2.5 goals in their last six consecutive away games in all competitions and considering the reverse leg also ended with just one goal, unders are the way to go here.
Declan Rice is West Ham’s most booked player with seven yellow cards in the Premier League and two in the Europa League. He was also booked in the reverse leg against Sevilla. I can see him making a cynical foul at some point in the 2nd half if West Ham are still trailing.
Combining these two selections gives us a cracking double @ 6/1 and I am happy to stake a very small 0.25pt on that.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
