West Ham vs. Newcastle Predictions: Expect goals and cards at the London Stadium

West Ham welcome Newcastle In the early kick off Saturday lunchtime, live on BT Sport.
Newcastle United travel in great form – 3 wins on the spin for Eddie Howes side has seen them climb out of the relegation zone and they are now 4 points clear of the drop. They defeated Aston Villa 1-0 in their last outing, a deflected Kieran Tripper free kick was enough to secure all 3 points. 20 points separates these two sides in the table but the form of both sides suggests Newcastle could well be worth backing at 4/1.
West Ham come into this fixture still hopeful of a top 4 spot come the end of the season. They sit 2 points behind Man United who occupy that desired 4th place, but will need to get back to winning ways to keep that dream alive - Just one win in their last 4 league games has hindered the Hammers hopes. They played out a 2-2 draw with Leicester in their last fixture, snatching a late point courtesy of Craig Dawson. Jarrod Bowen originally opened the scoring for Moyes’ men, a player who’s form certainly hasn’t dipped during this tough spell. With 7 goals in his last 7 games in all competitions he will fancy his chances Vs a Newcastle defence with 1 away clean sheet all season.
West Ham vs. Newcastle Tips
Newcastle will be without Kieran Tripper for the foreseeable future after he fractured his foot. Matt Richie, Callum Wilson and Manquillo are also confirmed absentees.
West Ham are still without Ogbonna and Masuaku, whilst Zouma may return to the squad if he is deemed fit enough after he missed the Leicester game with an illness in the warmup.
Bowen is a man in red hot form at the moment and he is best priced to score at 15/8 which certainly appeals.
Arguably West Ham’s player of the season so far, he’s managed 16 goal contributions across his 25 league games played. The English ace has managed 7 goals in his last 7 games, including a goal in his last outing in the Hammers 2-2 draw with Leicester. He averages the most Shots per game in the West Ham squad (2.4 SPG) and even outperforms Antonio on expected goals (9.98 this season).
Despite recent improvements to the Newcastle defence, I still fancy West Ham to score and Bowen would be the pick of the bunch. At 15/8 in happy to have 1.5 Pts on this as our main play.
We were one booking short last time out for a 50/1 card treble winner, but one man that didn’t let us down was Shelvey. He picked up his 7th yellow of the season in 15 games, with 3 coming in his last 4 games. He has also been booked in the last 2 head to heads.
Coufal could also be close to the referees book Saturday lunchtime. He will oppose the tricky Saint Maximan and has a decent card record himself. 4 bookings in 22 games this season makes his 5/1 price respectable, but when you factor in his direct opponent he will have many 1v1 duals which can always lead to cautions. Adding him with Shelvey gives us a juicy 20/1 longshot for extra interest Saturday afternoon.
