West Ham vs. Chelsea Betting Tips: Back Chilwell to score against The Hammers
Live on Sky Sports, West Ham host Chelsea in this Premier League clash at the London Stadium this Sunday at 4.30pm. After two winning tips from two on Wednesday, Tipster Wizard returns with his best bets.
After a disappointing end to their pre-season having lost 4-0 to Bayer Leverkusen and 3-1 to Rennes, West Ham kicked off their league season with a 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth.
There has been a lot of transfer activity at the club this summer as Declan Rice, Scamacca, Vlasic, Masuaku and Lanzini all left the club. As for the incomings, they have reinforced the midfield by bringing in Edson Alvarez from Ajax as well as James Ward-Prowse from Southampton who will both be looking to make their debuts here.
As for Chelsea, after a fantastic pre-season where they were unbeaten and won the summer series trophy, they kicked off their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool and produced an impressive performance.
Having lost 13 players this summer, Chelsea needed to strengthen their squad and they have brought in Moises Caicedo on a British transfer record fee as well as Romeo Lavia from Southampton this week to reinforce their midfield. They’ve also brought in the likes of Nkunku, Jackson, Disasi and Robert Sanchez to further strengthen the team.
On paper, they boast one of the strongest sides in the Premier League and Pochettino will be hoping he can guide the team to a Champions League spot at the very least this season.
As for the head to head record between these two sides, this fixture has been dominated by West Ham in recent seasons as Chelsea have failed to win away at West Ham in their last six meetings. This has historically been a competitive London Derby and I expect another tough game this Sunday so will be steering clear of result based betting in our preview.
Team News:
West Ham have no injuries or suspensions ahead of this game.
Reece James, Nkunku, Badiashile, Fofana, Broja, Bettinelli & Chalobah are out for Chelsea.
West Ham vs Everton Tips
Having watched every Chelsea game throughout pre-season, I noticed how high Ben Chilwell has been playing under Pochettino and we used that to our advantage in the game against Liverpool to bag a winner.
Chilwell was almost playing as a second striker and getting inside the penalty box during every Chelsea attack. I expect the same tactics to continue here which makes this bet a value play as we are getting odds of 9/5 for him to have two shots and none of them have to be on target. This is best priced with BetUK and the next best price can be found on PaddyPower or Betfair. Take this as our main bet for this game with a 1pt stake.
Chilwell scored against West Ham last season at Stamford Bridge and had a goal disallowed against Liverpool last week too. Due to his position, he will consistently get chances to get on the scoresheet and the price of 10/1 is just too big to ignore.
Apart from the disallowed goal against Liverpool, he had another big chance to score off an Enzo Fernandez pass and he hit it straight at the goalkeeper. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a huge price on him to score before the bookmakers start slashing his prices down due to his position in this Chelsea lineup. Take this as our second bet for this game with a small 0.25pt stake.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
