Watford vs. Reading Betting Tips: Back Sarr to strike at Vicarage Road
Watford take on Reading live on Sky Sports on Tuesday evening in the Championship. We’ve previewed the action and have provided you with two bets that we like the look of.
The Hornets will have been disappointed with a 1-0 defeat on home soil to Coventry last weekend, thanks to a Viktor Gyokeres goal in the first half. Slaven Bilic’s side currently sit seventh in the Championship standings and could climb into the top-six with a win here on Tuesday.
The Royals were in action on Friday night, live on Sky, and despite an equaliser against Preston in the second half, they came away with nothing after Ched Evans bagged himself his second goal of the game. After a strong start to the season, Reading have now won just one of their last eight in the league and have slipped down to 12th in the table.

Hassane Kamara and Francisco Sierralta are both suspended for this game, which could see Christian Kabasele and Mario Gaspar come into the starting XI. Tom Cleverley, Imran Louza and Craig Cathcart remain sidelined for the hosts through injury.
Paul Ince is expected to make several changes to his side following the defeat to Preston, with Lucas Joao one potential switch in the attacking department. Naby Sarr, Scott Dann, Femi Azeez and Liam Moore all remain on the treatment table.
Watford vs Reading Tips
Watford have scored in the first half of seven of their last eight home matches and we are backing them to get back to winning ways with a victory against Reading on Tuesday. At the time of writing, Betfred and SpreadEx are the two best priced bookmakers with 17/20 on show for Bilic’s side to take the three points.
Prior to their defeat against Coventry, Watford had won three on the bounce and had started to make good progress up the league table. Watford have won 14 of their last 18 home matches and looking at Reading’s away form this season, they have lost six out of nine on the road.
Watford are one of the few teams in the Championship to have a few Premier League level players in our opinion, with one of those being Ismaila Sarr. BoyleSports go just 5/4 on Sarr finding the net against Reading, and with a much more backable 12/5 on show from bet365 we think this looks a nice play.
The Senegal International has managed six goals in 15 Championship appearances this season. Sarr is averaging 0.44 goals per 90 mins this season and has amassed more xG than any other player at the club in 2022/2023 (4.5xG).
