Wales vs. England Betting Tips: Two predictions for final Group B match
Wales and England lock horns in a huge final Group B clash on Tuesday 29th November (7pm).
England will be looking to book their place in the last-16 as group winners, while Wales need to win and hope the outcome of Iran vs USA goes their way in order to progress through to the knockout-stages.
Tipster Wizard has previewed the match and selected two tips below...
Live on BBC, England go up against Wales in their final group stage game of the World Cup at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium this Tuesday.
Gareth Southgate’s men started off with a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Iran but had to settle for a point against an impressive USA side.
England will go through to the round of 16 as group winners with a win here but will also secure qualification if they can get at least a point.
As for Wales, it has been a disappointing World Cup campaign so far as they sit bottom of the group with just 1 point after a devastating 2-0 defeat against Iran with both goals coming deep in injury time.
Anything other than a win here will eliminate them so they will be hoping for all 3pts and a draw in the USA-IRAN game for them to secure qualification.
This is a fixture that has been dominated by The Three Lions as they have beaten Wales in all 6 of their head-to-head meetings.
This is the first time these two nations will be going up against each other at the World Cup and considering their recent form, Wales will require a mammoth effort to pull off an upset here and secure qualification.
A hugely significant World Cup clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:
England has a fully fit squad for this game.
Hennessey is out for Wales.
England possible starting lineup:
Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham; Sterling, Mount, Foden; Kane
Wales possible starting lineup:
Ward; Mepham, Rodon, Davies; Roberts, Ramsey, Ampadu, Williams; James, Moore, Bale
Wales vs England Tips
The four selections for this Betbuilder @ 4/5:
- Over 4.5 shots in the match for Wales
- Over 2.5 goal kicks in the match for England
- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Wales
- Over 0 goals in the 2nd half for both teams combined
Wales have to come out all guns blazing if they are to have any hopes of qualification and my bet builder for this game will be based on that.
Wales have had 7 and 10 shots in their first two games against USA and Iran respectively but the need to attack will be even greater here in a must-win game.
England have conceded 8 shots against both Iran and USA so the 4.5 shots line should be comfortably cleared by Wales here and the goal kicks should also follow as a result of those shots.
I expect a cagey first half but as Wales open up in the 2nd half, there will be space for England to attack which could see the Welsh players making cynical fouls to stop the English players and get booked in the process.
Wales have seen 3 yellow cards and a red card in their first 2 World Cup games so adding another booking for them makes sense here.
Finally, I expect the final 45 minutes of this game to be very open as Wales will look for the win and England will also look to score in their bid to go through to the knockouts as the group winners.
Combining these 4 selections gives us a solid bet builder @ 4/5 with bet365 and I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for this all-important game.
Harry Maguire is England’s biggest threat from set pieces.
He has already scored 4 goals in 6 appearances in the World Cup qualifying campaign and also had a headed shot on target in the last game against USA.
Maguire is 5/2 to get a shot on target with bet365 but if he does get one, it is most likely to be from a header so for him to get a headed shot on target @ 7/2 with Paddy Power looks like a good value bet with a small 0.25pt stake and I am happy to take it as our 2nd bet for this game.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
