We’ve taken a look at the latest odds for who will win the 2024 US Election, with Joe Biden and Donald Trump being the names at the head of the market.
Both the 2016 and 2020 US Election set a new record for the most money traded on a market on the Betfair Exchange and despite being over a year away the 2024 market has already had nearly £5m matched.
Joe Biden - 6/4
Priced at 6/4 with most trusted betting sites and 7/4 on the Betfair Exchange, Joe Biden is the current market favourite to win a second term in next year’s election. The current occupant of the White House is considered the most likely candidate to stand for the Democrats, however there are some who have questions over his age with Biden already being 80, with a second term potentially ending when he is 85.
Biden’s current odds of 6/4 imply a 40% chance of winning the election, but he does face opposition to win the Democratic nomination from Gavin Newsom. The Governor of California can be sided with at 8/1 in the Democrat candidate market and 16/1 in the US Election winner.
Robert Kennedy Jr, the nephew of former President John F Kennedy is also in the running despite having controversial views on Covid-19 being an anti-vaxxer. Kennedy is currently 12/1 with some bookmakers to be named the party candidate and slightly bigger at 16/1 to win the US Presidential election.
Donald Trump - 9/4
Donald Trump is bidding to make a remarkable return to the White House and is eligible to run again after only previously serving one term in office.
Despite being charged with trying to overturn the result of the previous election Trump remains the odds-on favourite to win the Republican nomination at 4/11.
The count of criminal accusations against Donald Trump continues to rise, yet concurrently, his support in the Republican primary and his campaign funds also grow.
Trump recently confirmed that he will not be taking part in the forthcoming Republican presidential debate with his rivals stating that one latest poll showed he had “legendary” numbers ahead of the other candidates.
Ron DeSantis had been the closest contender, but has been joined at 7/1 to be the Republican Candidate by entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. In July, 38-year-old Ramaswamy had been priced as big as 125/1 with BoyleSports in the 2024 Presidential Election winner market, but has seen odds slashed dramatically and is now the third name in the betting at just 9/1 with some firms.
