Ukraine Euro 2021 Tips and Betting Odds
Welcome to BettingOdds.com's Euro 2021 profile series, where we'll be counting down to the tournament with an in-depth look at the betting opportunities for each of the countries involved.
Author's Opinion
Ukraine are huge outsiders to win Euro 2021 and for good reason. Andriy Shevchenko's men have only qualified for three major international tournaments in the last 25 years, Euro 2016 & 2012 and the 2006 World Cup, where they bowed out of the former in the group stages, which actually makes their journey to the quarter-final of the WC 15 years ago - when their current manager was still firing in the goals - all the more commendable.
They'll certainly have their work cut out making it out of a tough group which includes the Netherlands and Austria, though with the best performing third-placed teams also making it through to the last-16, I feel confident in their ability to qualify for the knockout phases, but don't possess too much faith in them going any further than that at Euro 2021.

Top Three Key Players
Roman Yaremchuk, Gent
A key player for Ukraine this summer will be their leading goalscorer Roman Yaremchuk. The 27-year-old has bagged 22 goals for Belgian outfit Gent this season and will relied upon heavily to deliver at the top end of the pitch for Shevchenko's side at Euro 2021. He is a three-figure price in the top scorer betting, priced at 125/1 at the time of writing.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, Man City
The only player in the current crop playing regularly in the Premier League with West Ham's Andriy Yarmolenko missing most of the campaign through injury, Man City's versatile Oleksandr Zinchenko will be pivotal for the national side this summer.
At City he operates as a more traditional left full back but for Ukraine he is mostly deployed as either a left or central attacking figure in midfield. He has really kicked on in recent seasons and transformed into a reliable asset for club and country, and definitely possesses the talent required to carry his country to the knockout phases of Euro 2021.
Ruslan Malinovskiy, Atalanta
Atalanta forward Ruslan Malinovskiy is another player who has been playing regularly in one of Europe's top leagues this season, as well as featuring in the Champions League for the Italian outfit. Having scored eight goals and provided nine assists in 2020-21, the 27-year-old's creative influence will be much needed at the Euros, and I am looking forward to seeing how he copes with the pressure of the main stage.
Young Gun
Ilya Zabarnyi, Dynamo Kiev
18-year-old centre-back Ilya Zabarnyi may have been born in 2002 but he is showing a maturity well beyond his years for Dynamo Kiev. The teen is a regular in the first team already and has six caps to his name at international level. Very interested to see how he fares in the summer.
Ukraine's Outright Odds at Euro 2021
Ukraine are big-price outsiders to win Euro 2021 at 100/1, making them joint-13th in the betting alongside Russia and Sweden.

Ukraine's Group Odds at Euro 2021
Ukraine are 6/1 joint-second favourites to win Group C alongside Austria, behind the Netherlands (2/5) and ahead of North Macedonia (25/1). They are 4/11 to qualify for the knockout phase, with little separating them from Austria, who are 2/5 to do so.
The Gaffer
Ukraine's manager is former AC Milan and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko. The 44-year-old made 111 appearances for the country during his playing career, scoring 48 times - making him Ukraine's highest ever goalscorer.
He took charge of the national team back in 2016 after a brief spell as their assistant head coach. Euro 2021 will be Shevchenko's first major tournament as a manager.
