Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou: A look at the special markets on offer
The crazy world of boxing continues this weekend as we have Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury facing off against the ex-Heavyweight UFC champion, Francis Ngannou. It’s a fight not many predicted would actually happen but we are now just moments away from a historical crossover boxing match.
BetMGM are offering various markets on the fight so we’ll be taking a look at some of the specials they are offering.
To be knocked down and win
BetMGM will be offering a knockdown and win market for those that fancy a bet on a comeback this fight. The odds for these are quite big and with two heavyweights in action, a knockdown can come at any second.
For those that fancy Fury to take a punch of Ngannou and get back to win, you can get 6/1. It’d be a big ask for Fury to even be knocked down but many are comparing Ngannou to Deontay Wilder in their style and we all saw Fury’s impressive comeback against Wilder in the past.
If you fancy it the other way around, Ngannou to be knocked down and win is a staggering 22/1. It’s a big price for a reason but if Francis is floored early days and still lands that knockout blow that we all know he’s capable of, you’d be on to a very big priced winner.
Either fighter to be knocked down
We all know Fury can take a hit, he was floored three times in his saga with Deontay Wilder and still came out victorious in them. He can also deal a devastating blow and had two KO victories over Deontay Wilder in the end.
There seems to always be knockdowns in Fury fights and the bookies are well aware of this. However, since this is in an exhibition many are skeptical about this fight being as action packed as expected. Fury by decision seems to be a popular bet and if you don’t fancy any knockdowns in the fight, BetMGM are offering 7/2 for no knockdowns in the fight.
Over/Under knockdowns
This next market is quite unique and I haven’t seen it very often. BetMGM are offering the traditional over/under market on knockdowns for these fighters.
They’re expecting Fury to knockdown Ngannou at least once and he’s 1/5 to land over 0.5 knockdowns. They are however, not fancying Francis’ shots at knocking Fury down with BetMGM pricing him at 21/5 for over 0.5 knockdowns.
Depending on how you think this fight will go you can get creative with the number of knockdowns, over 2.5 knockdowns could be good value and that is a bet that landed in Wilder vs Fury’s last fight.
It’ll be an interesting bout for sure and for those having a punt on the big fight, make sure to do so responsibly.
