Tottenham vs Arsenal Prediction, Betting Tips and Team News: Best bets for Sunday's North London derby
Live on Sky Sports, Tottenham go up against bitter rivals Arsenal in the Premier League this Sunday (2pm) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in this massive North London Derby.
Tottenham vs Arsenal Predictions
Tottenham vs Arsenal Preview
Having accumulated four points from their first three games, Ange Postecoglu’s men have made an average start to the season; drawing at Leicester and losing to Newcastle in their two away games so far. However, they were mightily impressive and clinical in their 4-0 home win against Everton and a similar sort of performance will be needed if they are to pull off a result against the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s men made a strong start to the season with back-to-back wins against Wolves and Aston Villa, before dropping points against Brighton at home with Declan Rice getting sent off early in the second half. With Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard also absent in the midfield, Spurs will not get a better opportunity to get all three points against their rivals for the first time in five Premier League meetings.
Both their head-to-head meetings were full of goals last season, ending 3-2 and 2-2, and I expect another entertaining clash which has the potential of turning into a goal-fest.
A mouth-watering North London Derby awaits us and I have included my two best bets in the preview below.
Tottenham vs Arsenal Team News:
- Richarlison is out for Tottenham while Micky van de Ven, Bissouma & Solanke are doubtful.
- Tomiyasu, Tierney, Mikel Merino & Declan Rice are out for Arsenal while Jesus, Odegaard & Calafiori are doubtful.
Bet Builder Selections
- Pedro Porro - Over 0.5 fouls committed
- Thomas Partey - Over 0.5 fouls committed
- Over 1 cards in the 2nd half
Pedro Porro has the ideal matchup against Gabriel Martinelli for the fouls selection. He is averaging 1.7 fouls per game, having committed a foul in each of his three starts so far this season and he also committed a foul in this exact fixture last season.
Thomas Partey is averaging 2.67 fouls per game so far this season having also committed a foul in each of his three Premier League games for Arsenal. He committed three fouls in this fixture last season, and also picked up a booking, and I expect him to be aggressive with his tackles again which should get this selection over the line.
For the final selection, I am backing at least two cards to be handed out in the final 45 minutes of this game. Considering the significance of getting a result in this fixture for both the players and the fans, there is no surprise that their last 14 Tottenham vs Arsenal meetings have all seen at least two cards in the second half.
We also have a card-happy referee in Jarred Gillet in charge of the proceedings who is averaging over five cards per game so far this season which bodes well for the selection.
Tottenham vs Arsenal Offers
There are some cracking offers available from bookmakers for Sunday's showdown in the capital.
Simply click on the banners below to opt in.
Thomas Partey is leading the fouls chart for Arsenal in the Premier League with eight fouls committed in three games so far. He committed three fouls in this fixture last season and also received a yellow card. With Arsenal light in the midfield due to Declan Rice’s absence, he will be expected to step up and I can see him going into the referee’s book for a cynical foul.
Destiny Udogie has committed the most fouls for Tottenham (6) so far this season and he has a huge task of going up against Bukayo Saka. The last time Udogie came up against him, he committed four fouls and got booked and with Udogie’s aggressive nature, this looks a fantastic selection for this derby.
Combining these two selections gives us a cracking player booking longshot at 10/1 and we will take it with a small 0.25pt stake as my second bet for this game.
