Tottenham v Manchester City Tips: Kane able to become provider once more against City

Tasty is an understatement when it comes to the servings on offer this weekend in the Premier League. Tottenham v Manchester City takes centre stage on Saturday and our resident Premier League columnist @AnthonyEadson is on hand with three football tips. The game kicks off at 5:30pm and can be seen live on Sky Sports Premier League.
There’s plenty of team news concerns for both sides heading into this clash with Matt Doherty testing positive for Covid-19 this week. The right-back will miss the game, while there are also major doubts over Erik Lamela, Tanguy Ndombele, and Steven Bergwijn for the hosts.
Both Nathan Ake and Raheem Sterling picked up knocks on International duty and will be assessed closer to Saturday’s game. Fernandinho and Oleksandr Zinchenko will also miss the match through injury, with Gabriel Jesus expected to be the central striker for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Despite sitting tenth in the table Manchester City have been made the 4/5 favourites with the bookmakers to win the game - an implied probability of 56%. The draw is available to be backed at 3/1, with a win for Jose Mourinho’s men also priced at 3/1 with most firms.
Son Heung-Min 2+ shots on target - 1.5pts @ 12/5 Paddy Power
No player has currently scored more goals in the Premier League this season than Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min and for my first selection on Saturday I’m fancying the South Korean to have two or more shots on target, at the boosted price of 12/5 with Paddy Power. Daniel Levy arranged for a private jet to bring the Korean back from International duty early so you would expect him to start this game.
After providing 11 goals and 10 assists last season in the league, Son has started this league season on fire with eight goals already. Highly accurate with his shooting, the 28-year-old has registered two or more shots on target in four of his eight league outings this season. With Harry Kane turning provider I feel there is more emphasis on Son’s scoring this season and his figures show that. Sky bet have this same selection priced at 6/4 which gives plenty of appeal to the 12/5 offering from Paddy Power about something that has landed in 50% of his league games in the 2020/21 season.
Next up I’m fancying Harry Kane to make an assist in the game, again at a boosted price with Paddy Power, this time at 5/1. Over the course of last season’s Premier League campaign, Harry Kane registered just two assists. Eight games into the new term and the England forward has already an impressive eight to his name.
Figures that even Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry would be proud of and it’s clear to see the more rounded role Kane is taking for the team, proving he is much more than just a goalscorer. I tipped up this selection at the same price against Manchester United at the start of October and it rolled in after 20 minutes that day. This selection has landed in five of Kane's eight league games this season and hopefully we will have more of the same on Saturday on what I think is a reasonable price from Paddy Power.
I’ve also picked out a longshot for Saturday tea-time made up of Ferran Torres and Harry Kane to have one or more shots on target, with both Rodri and Sergio Reguilon to be carded at 40/1 with Paddy Power.
Ferran Torres has been a player who I’ve been impressed with over recent weeks at Manchester City. The Spaniard became the first player since Michael Owen in 2001 to score a hat-trick against Germany over the International break with three goals for Spain in a 6-0 win. The 20-year-old has registered one or more shots on target in six of his seven starts for City this season in all competitions and I’m happy to include him in this Same Game Multi.
Harry Kane’s goal scoring talents are well known and now a member of the 150 Premier League goals club, I expect Kane to notch at least one on target against City. The 28-year-old is the penalty taker for Spurs and no player has registered more shots on target than him in the league this season (15).
Moving onto the bookings and the first I’ve opted for is Manchester City’s Rodri or Rodrigo as he is known to some. The tough tackling midfielder is one who does not mind breaking up play and I’m surprised not to see him shorter in the market after he picked up more yellows than anyone else at City last season.
Sergio Reguilon was cautioned on eight occasions for Sevilla last season in just 29 games. The right-back has picked up one already in his first four league starts for Spurs and with Mike Dean in charge I think there’s a good chance he could get his second being up against the in-form Ferran Torres and being booked in two of his last four for club and country.
Those four selections combined pay 40/1 for the Same Game Multi. It is currently safer gambling week and if you would like to view any more information about how we encourage you to stay in control and to keep gambling fun, you can do so here. Enjoy the match and please gamble responsibly.
