Sunderland vs. Blackburn Betting Tips: Back Diallo to continue hot streak at the Stadium of Light

Sunderland take on Blackburn live on Sky Sports on Boxing Day with the game kicking-off at 12:30 lunchtime. Here at BettingOdds, we’ve previewed the game and provided you with two tips we like the look of.
Since returning from the World Cup break Sunderland have played three matches and have won one, drawn one and lost one. Their most recent result was a 1-1 draw away at Hull, with the Black Cats finding an equaliser through Ross Stewart after Elliot Embleton was sent off 15 minutes into the second half. Sunderland are currently 13th in the table, but due to the tight nature of the Championship they could go as high as 6th with a win here on Boxing day.
Blackburn will face former manager Tony Mowbray at the Stadium of Light and Rovers currently occupy third in the table and have remarkably still not drawn a single match this season, despite playing 23 games. After two really disappointing defeats to local rivals Burnley and Preston, Blackburn bounced back with a 2-0 win at Carrow Road to keep themselves in the hunt for promotion.
Taking a look at the match result odds and bookmakers are offering Sunderland to collect the three points at 13/10. The draw can be backed at 23/10, while a win for the visitors can be taken at 11/5.
Sunderland vs Blackburn Rovers Tips
Both of our selections on Boxing Day are with BoyleSports where new customers can get £20 in free bets along with a £10 casino bonus, when they sign up and bet £10. The first of our picks is for Sunderland’s Amad Diallo to score anytime at 7/2.
The 20-year-old has been improving throughout the campaign in the North East and is now starting most matches rather than being used off the bench. Diallo has now scored in five of his last seven matches for Sunderland and with him also now on penalty duty, we think 7/2 looks a little bit too big against a Blackburn side who have been inconsistent of late,
We’ve also picked out two players to be carded in the match via BoyleSports’ new and improved Bet Builder tool. The first of those is for Jack Clarke to find his way into referee Darren Bond’s notebook.
Only one Sunderland player has been shown more yellows this season than Clarke who has collected 6 in 21 league starts in 2022/2023. The 22-year-old is averaging 1.4 fouls per game and looks a fair price at 3/1 to pick up his seventh caution of the campaign here.
For Rovers, we have taken a lean towards Sam Gallagher pick up a booking. A physical forward who often does a lot of the dirty work for his side, Gallagher has been shown 7 yellows in his last 24 league matches. Five of those seven cards have arrived in fixtures away from Ewood Park making it five in his last 12 away matches and we’ll be hoping can add another to his record to bring home this 14/1 Bet Builder.
