By the time Manchester City face Newcastle on Sunday, they may well need all three points to return to the top of the Premier League should Liverpool beat Spurs on Saturday. Four games take place in the Premier League on Sunday and we’ve got @AnthonyEadson on hand to provide us with his best bet builder tips.
It’s a double that he likes the look of this weekend with the first selection coming at 2pm as Arsenal take on Leeds at the Emirates. The second comes from the Etihad at 4:30pm, with both games being shown live on Sky Sports. At the time of writing, the double pays 18/5 with BetVictor
Bet Builder Tips
Followers of my Bet Builder column will have been aware of the winning double I put up last Saturday with Burnley to win or draw against Watford, as well as Joao Cancelo to have a shot on target against Leeds.
4/1 was the winning price on last Saturday’s double and I’m taking a very similar approach this time round at the slightly shorter price of 18/5. The two selections I’m touting this week are Arsenal to win and Joao Cancelo to have a shot on target and I’ll start with the Gunners.
After wins against Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham in their last three matches, Arteta’s side find themselves only three points behind Chelsea in third heading into the weekend. Arsenal have put in some classy performances in those three matches, generating 5.33xG.
With Spurs traveling to Liverpool on Saturday, one would think this would be a really good chance for Arsenal to extend their lead over their North London rivals in their race for the top four.
Leeds battled well for long periods in the 4-0 defeat against Manchester City last weekend and prior to that they were five games unbeaten under Jesse Marsch. Despite those positive results in April, others below them have also been picking up points and Leeds now appear to be spiraling towards the drop.
Arsenal have hit form at just the right time and with the focus for Arteta’s side firmly on the top-four, I can only see them coming out victorious against a Leeds side who have leaked more goals than any other this season (72).
Joao Cancelo has had 22 more shots than any other defender in the league this season and I’m backing him to hit the target against Newcastle. This selection has landed in Cancelo’s last three games in all competitions, priced at 5/2 against Leeds, and then 3/1 against Real Madrid for 1+ shot on target with BetVictor.
I’m shocked that BetVictor have once again put up these rather generous lines on the defender, with them going 23/10 for him to hit the target at least once on Sunday. Most other firms are odds-on about this same selection and I feel we are getting a lovely bit of value here considering it’s landed in half of his starts in the league this season (16/32).
Cancelo has hit 22 shots on target in 32 appearances in the top-flight at an average of 0.69 per game. I’ll also be taking the 2+ shots at 6/5 with the same firm which is as short as 2/5 in other places.
