In the last international break I questioned what happened to Scott McTominay when he put on a Scotland shirt. A more apt question now is what has happened to Scott McTominay?
The Manchester United man may have saved his manager's job at the weekend after he scored twice from the bench to turn the game against Brentford on its head.
Both those goals game deep into stoppage time - the first a tidy finish, the second a header - and took the Red Devils from a goal down to one up in a whirlwind seven minutes of stoppages at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag, who started the afternoon second favourite in the sack race, must have breathed a sigh of relief as the second hit the net.
Those goals took McTominay’s tally to eight this season, six of which have come in European qualifiers.
He hit the double twice, one coming in the reverse, scored one against Georgia, and grabbed a goal and an assist in the one game last international break.
The midfielder is currently around 15/2 to score anytime in Sevilla and while he is scoring for fun I am going to air on the side of caution here.
McTominay has racked up 14 shots across those five appearances (2.8 per game), so his price of 7/4 to hit the target here appeals.
