With just three games remaining in the Premier League season, any and all points gained at this stage are of vital importance for teams in a relegation dogfight.
However, even a draw will be seen as a negative result for Forest on Saturday with a trip to South Yorkshire viewed as a must-win encounter.
The Tricky Trees are winless in eight on the road in all competitions and have failed to claim all three points against three relegation rivals already in 2024 - in the form of Brentford (3-2), Luton (1-1), and Everton (2-0).
The Blades, meanwhile, have won just twice at home in all competitions all season, with the most recent of these coming against Brentford in early December, and this poor form is likely to provide Forest with plenty of openings on Saturday.
Nuno Espirito Santo faced a number of defensive injuries in the recent defeat to Manchester City, with Murillo, Willy Boly and Neco Williams all requiring treatment, but there are no fresh concerns in their attack, meaning the likes of Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White should feature.
The Blades, meanwhile, have a lengthy injury list to contend with and a number of key players - most notably James McAtee and Oli McBurnie - will miss out for Chris Wilder’s side at the weekend.
Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest Tips
With so much on the line for Forest in what is arguably their most favourable remaining fixture this season, their forward line need to be firing on all cylinders on Saturday.
Striker Chris Wood has been the go-to man for goals this campaign, netting 12 times in the league and the New Zealand international has scored both of Forest’s last two goals away from home.
The 32-year-old has started each of Forest’s last eight fixtures and will be expected to lead the line again at Bramall Lane.
With four goals across this run - averaging a converted strike every other game - and scoring the winner in the reverse fixture in August, the Kiwi could pose a real threat to the Blades backline and continue his impressive season in front of goal.
A testing season for United looks to be ending with little more than a whimper and the Blades could once again find themselves on the wrong side of the law at the weekend.
Only Chelsea (101) have received more yellow cards in the Premier League than the Blades’ 95, with Jayden Bogle, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Gustavo Hamer leading the way in this metric for United with nine.
The latter looks the best option in the cards market on Saturday, with the Dutchman also leading the club in terms of fouls committed with 46 and, with plenty of defending expected for the hosts, he could once again find himself in the referee’s notebook.
