Roma vs. AC Milan Betting Tips: Side with the visitors in Rome
We have a double header in Serie A on Friday evening as Sassuolo take on Verona before Roma host AC Milan live on TNT Sports. We’ve called upon Anthony Eadson to preview the action from the Stadio Olimpico and pick out two bets that he likes the look of.
After serving a ban, Jose Mourinho will return to the dugout for Roma, with the former Chelsea-boss being reunited with Romelu Lukaku this week after the Belgian striker arrived on loan. Lukaku is not expected to feature on Friday, while Tammy Abraham remains on the treatment table and Pablo Dybala a doubt.
Milan will be hopeful of improving on their fourth place finish in Serie A last season and are the slight favourites with most betting sites to take three points on Friday, priced at 6/4. The draw is on show at 17/10, while a win for Roma is also available at the same price.
Roma vs AC Milan Tips
After two games played, Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan side sit top of the Serie A table with two wins from two. In their first game Milan managed a convincing 2-0 away win at Bologna, before a 4-1 thrashing of Torino in Gameweek 2. New signing Christian Pulisic has really hit the ground running with two goals in his first two matches since arriving from Chelsea and the early signs look really positive this season for the club who will believe they can challenge for the title.
Roma on the other hand have had a worrying start to the campaign, with manager Jose Mourinho already under scrutiny. While Mourinho has been serving a touchline ban due to misdemeanors last season, his side have played out a 2-2 draw at home to Salernitana, before putting in a dreadful display in the 2-1 defeat to Roma.
Milan have started the season superbly and have not lost to Roma since 2019. Taking them in the Draw No bet market looks the wise play here, meaning we will have our stake returned should the match finish in stalemate.
At 6/1 we’ll also be having a tickle on a three-pronged Bet Builder that pays 6/1 with Paddy Power or Betfair. The first of those legs is for Roma’s Bryan Cristante to give away two or more fouls. No player committed more fouls for Roma last season and the midfielder has started this term on a similar trajectory with totals of three and four in his first two matches.
Next up it’s Rafael Leao who we are targeting in the player fouls market, but this time to give away one or more fouls. In his last five away matches for Milan, Leao has recorded foul totals of: 1,0,3,2,1 and looks an attractive proposition in the market priced at 5/6.
Rounding off the trio is Christian Pulisic. This is a big game for Milan who are looking to sound out a message and we expect them to be aggressive from the off. Pulisic may not be a common culprit when it comes to fouls but we think it could be worth taking a chance on him giving away at least one on Friday. Combining those three selections pays 6/1 at the time of writing.
