
Report: The Price of a Save

BettingOdds.com have conducted a study into every current goalkeeper in the Premier League to find the shot-shopper with the best and worst value based on performances in the 2020/21 EPL season.
The research has found that Manchester United duo David de Gea and Dean Henderson have earned £251,914 and £201,662, respectively, for every save they have made this Premier League campaign, meaning they feature prominently in the top ten list of costliest goalkeepers based on saves made to salary earned in 2020/21.
Topping the list is Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who has cost Saints £862,185 for every save he has produced in the league this season. Leeds United’s number one Illan Meslier has proven to be the most economical man between the sticks, having pocketed £609,632 so far this season, but his 102 saves equate to just £5,977 for every chance he’s deflected away from going into the back of his own net.
