Report: Manchester United Duo Sancho and Varane Feature In The Top 10 Costliest Transfers Based On Points Earned

Moving swiftly towards the Premier League winter transfer window (somewhat mercifully for Newcastle United), which is due to open for the whole month of January, and nearly a third of the way into the season BettingOdds.com has taken a look at the most and least successful arrivals who arrived back in the Premier League from the start of the 2021/22 campaign.
When taking into consideration loan and free signings, Southampton star Armando Broja steams ahead of the pack. On loan from Chelsea, Broja has helped Saints earn 12 points this season and, with a salary of £8,500 per week, means that it has cost the south-coast club a mere £10,625 per point when their striker has featured. He is followed by Everton freebie Andros Towsend, who has meant that the Toffees can see just the parting of a solid £40,000 a point from their prominent player.
However, removing these contingents and considering players who moved to their respective club for a fee, the most economical signing thus far is Townsend's mate on Merseyside Demarai Gray, who works out to a respectable £129,444.44 per point and tops that list at this point in the season.
The costliest is comprised of a variety of famous faces who have yet to truly make their mark in the Premier League this season. As expected, Romelu Lukaku and Jack Grealish - a £200m pair - are jostling for a position at the top of this list, which also features Manchester United duo Jadon Sancho and Raphaël Varane. Take a look below.
The results of the study can be found below and have been organised into the following categories:
- Costliest Transfers Per Point Gained in the 2021/22 Premier League Season;
- Least Costly Transfers Per Point Gained in the 2021/22 Premier League Season (EXCLUDING free/loan signings);
