Report: Jurgen Klopp is the Premier League’s best manager for improving squad value
Report: Jurgen Klopp is the Premier League’s best manager for improving squad value

BettingOdds.com have conducted a report into which Premier League manager has been the best at increasing the value of their side since they took charge.

We’ve found that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been the best in this regard, increasing the value of his squad by £523.8m, an 111.4% increase of player values amongst those currently in his squad.

Each manager has been judged on how they’ve helped increase the value of players currently in their squad, so any players who have left the club during a manager’s time in charge have not been included in the study.

To determine the effect a manager has had on a player’s worth, we have analysed how much a player’s value has increased or decreased since they’ve been managed by their current boss. All figures in this report are from Transfermarkt.com.

The results are broken down into the following four categories:

  • Managers with the highest increase in squad value (In Pounds)
  • Managers with the highest increase in squad value (As a percentage)
  • Players with the highest increase in value whilst working under current manager (Per Manager)
  • Players with the biggest decrease in value whilst working under current manager (Per Manager)

Due to being at the club for only a month, we have opted against analysing Sam Allardyce’s squad at West Brom.
