Real Betis vs. Barcelona Betting Tips: Iglesias to be the hero for Betis

The second Spanish Super Cup semi-final takes place on Thursday evening with Real Betis taking on Barcelona. The 4-team competition is taking place out in Saudi Arabia and we’ve provided our best bets for the game that kicks-off at 19:00 GMT.
Until 2018 the Spanish Super Cup was only ever contested by two teams, although since then the format has now changed to include the winners and runners-up of the Copa del Rey, as well as the winners and runners-up of La Liga.
Real Betis are flying high in La Liga in fourth in the table. Los Verdiblancos are unbeaten in their three matches since returning from the Winter break with a point against Athletico Bilbao, a 4-1 win over lower league Ibiza Islas Pitiusas in the Copa del Rey, and most recently last weekend with a 2-1 away win at Rayo Vallecano.
Barcelona also possess an identical record to Betis since returning from the World Cup with a point against Espanyol, before a win in the Copa del Rey, followed by Sunday’s impressive 1-0 away win at Atletico Madrid.
Taking a look at the odds to qualify for Sunday’s final, The Catalans are the 2/9 favourites to advance, while Real Betis can be backed at 3/1 with bet365.
Real Betis vs Barcelona Tips
There have been a whopping 45 goals across the last nine meetings between these two sides at an average of 5 per game. We fancy a few on Thursday, and one man we will be hoping finds the net is Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele who we are siding with in the anytime scorer market.
Bet365 go just 6/4 for Dembele to get his name on the scoresheet against Betis which looks too short in our eyes. Instead, we would recommend taking the 3/1 on offer with Unibet. Dembele scored the only goal of the game against Atletico Madrid and that now makes it three goals in his last four starts for Barcelona. Betis have conceded in four of their last five competitive matches and with the Frenchman starting to hit form, we think he looks a nice proposition here.
We’ve also picked out something at a bit more of a price courtesy of the bet365 Bet Builder feature. The first half of this two-pronged punt comes in the form of Real Betis forward Borja Iglesias to find the net. The 29-year-old has managed an impressive eight goals in just 14 La Liga starts this term and he should be the biggest threat in front of goal for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
We’ve paired Iglesias to score with midfielder William Carvalho to find his way into referee Carlos del Cerro’s notebook. No player has been shown more yellows in the league this campaign for Betis than the former Sporting Lisbon man with four in 14 starts. Carvalho is averaging over a foul per game and coming up against Pedri and Gavi in the middle of the park should provide a tricky test.
Did you know that bet365 pay your team out as a winner if they go 2 goals ahead at any time in the match (available on over 80 leagues and competitions, T&C's apply). Find out more on our bet365 offers page.
