RB Leipzig v Hertha Berlin Tips: Preview and Predictions for Bundesliga Clash

Wednesday's standout fixture comes in the form of RB Leipzig v Hertha Berlin. Both sides enter the game in solid form having won convincingly over the weekend, with the hosts defeating Mainz 5-0 away from home and Hertha easing past rivals Union Berlin 4-0 on Friday evening.
Unsurprisingly it is Leipzig who enter the clash as favourites. Julian Nagelsmann's side are 4/11 to win on home soil, while the travelling Hertha can be found as high as 8/1 with some bookmakers.
The match kick's off at 17:30 UK time and will be shown live on BT Sport. As always, BettingOdds.com has put together a comprehensive preview for the game, featuring one short-priced selection, one medium-priced selection and one longshot selection you might want to consider if you're struggling to decide what to bet on.
Vedad Ibisevic to score anytime at 7/2 - Paddy Power
Our first selection is Hertha front man Ibisevic to find the net anytime. The veteran striker has been excellent at the focal point of the visitors' attack since the Bundesliga's return, scoring two in two against Hoffenheim and Union Berlin respectively.
The Bosnian marksman will take a great deal of confidence into this clash at the Red Bull Arena, with bookmakers Paddy Power giving him a 22% chance of making it three in three this evening.
At odds of 7/2 to score anytime, we think this is tremendous value considering Ibisevic's recent form, especially with Paddy's as this same bet is priced up at 11/4 with Boylesports.
Timo Werner to score first and Marko Grujic to be booked at 14/1 - Betfair (boosted from 12/1)
Our medium-priced bet comes in the form of an appetising 14/1 first goalscorer and player carded double. Timo Werner has seemingly returned to his best following a stunning hat-trick in the 5-0 thrashing of Mainz on Sunday, with the German's first of the afternoon coming in the 11th minute to break the deadlock.
We tipped up Werner to score first in our betting preview for that game and he didn't disappoint us, so we're placing full trust in him once more to etch his name onto the scoresheet first against Hertha. He'll be flying after his recent performance at the weekend and eager to add one more to his goal-haul so to close the gap on Robert Lewandowski at the top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts.
After Lewandowski failed to score against Dortmund in last night's Der Klassika, Werner has now moved into 4/1 to be clinch the Bundesliga's Golden Boot award this season, so that could be a good bet to get on before this evening's encounter, as if he scores that price will only further shorten.
Then we've backed Hertha midfielder Marko Grujic to be shown a yellow card. The 24-year-old is his club's joint-most booked player this season with seven yellow cards to his name, and has also found his way into the referee's notepad in his previous two games. Up against a high-pressing midfield, it's likely we'll see plenty of tackles on Wednesday evening and if that does prove to be case, Grujic is the first name we'd expect to be booked.
Daycot Upamecano & Dedryck Boyata to be booked & Matheus Cunha 2+ shots on target at 44/1 - Betfair
Our final longshot bet for this match sees both Daycot Upamecano (Leipzig) and Dedryck Boyata (Hertha) booked.
Upamecano is Leipzig's second most booked player this season with six yellow cards to his name. The Frenchman was booked during Sunday's win over Mainz and will be up against a pacey front-line in the form of Matheus Cunha and Dodi Lukebakio this evening; we wouldn't be too surprised to see him pick up his seventh yellow of the campaign here.
We've also included Hertha defender Dedryck Boyata to be booked. The former Manchester City man has seven yellow cards to his name this time out and will be tasked with marking Timo Werner, who as we saw on Sunday can give defenders nightmares with his pace and athleticism. The 29-year-old was carded against Hoffenheim 10 days ago, and we think he could work his way into the book against Werner and Leipzig.
To really help boost the odds of this selection, we've included Hertha front man Matheus Cunha to have 2+ shots on target. The Brazilian has been emphatic recently, scoring four goals in his previous four matches in the Bundesliga and has found the net in both of Hertha's wins since football returned.
Cunha has a real nack for being in the right place at the right time - proven by his goal record - and will surely be presented with plenty of opportunities against Leipzig given he is Hertha's biggest threat in front of goal.
As a treble, this bet comes out as 44/1 with Betfair.
So, there's our three football tips for this Wednesday's showdown. We hope you thoroughly enjoy the game and it's as exciting as we've built it up to be! Above all else though, always make sure you're only betting what you can afford.
