RB Leipzig vs. Bayern Munich Betting Tips: Back the Bavarians to win the DFL-Super Cup again

The start of this season is finally upon us, which means the return of only one thing, the traditional season curtain raisers. In England we’ll have Premier League Champions Man City facing off against FA Cup holders Liverpool, and over in Germany, it’s perennial Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich up against first time DFB-Pokal winners, RB Leipzig,
DFL-Super Cup Tips
It’s been an interesting summer for Bayern, with the goal always being to win the Champions League as well as what is expected to be another canter towards the league title. With Erling Haaland leaving Borussia Dortmund, their rivals have to play catch up yet again, but it could be an interesting August for them. Robert Lewandowski has finally left for Barcelona, with Sadio Mane being brought in. The speed of Mane, Sane, Gnabry and Coman will no doubt cause problems for any side in Germany, and FC Bayern will be looking to pick up their third ‘trophy’ in a row in this game.
For Leipzig, there’s been a lot of departures over the current window, with the likes of Tyler Adams, Nordi Mukiele and Brian Bobbey leaving the club. Xaver Schlager has been brought in to bolster the midfield, but you have to think that they may struggle more than expected this season.
As ever, we’ve previewed the game, and picked out two tips that we like the look of.
There’s not too many names more synonymous with Bayern, or German football in general, than Thomas Muller. Over 400 league games, 137 league goals, and 24 domestic trophies, Muller is a legend of the game across Europe. He’s won this specific trophy on seven separate occasions, and he has a decent record in it himself.
With all the comings and goings, Muller remains, and he’s scored in each of his last two appearances in the curtain raiser. At 9/4, he’s a better price than the likes of Mane, Gnabry and Zirkzee, and expect him to start the season in style.
Amazingly, this will be the 11th straight DFL-Super Cup that the Bavarians have been involved in. The Bundesliga Champions are looking for their third win on the bounce here, making it six titles out of the last seven.
Over 4.5 goals have landed in two of the last four Super Cup’s, with over 3.5 landing in one of the other two fixtures. These games often are played with a more relaxed feel, with teams still figuring out potential formations, and using the chance to bleed in new players. Another note to add, is that over 4.5 goals has landed in three of the last four head-to-head fixtures between these two sides, and it looks a good price at 11/4 with Bet365 or Unibet.
Good luck if you’re following either of these two bets, and please remember to gamble responsibly.
