Rangers vs FCSB Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips: 25/1 double at Ibrox

Rangers head into tonight's Europa League clash at home to FCSB looking for a result to kick-start their season following two defeats in three games.

Rangers have fallen six points behind joint-leaders Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership after suffering a disappointing 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock last weekend, placing manager Philippe Clement under pressure at Ibrox.

As for their record in Europe, the Gers carved out an impressive 2-0 win away to Malmo before coming unstuck in a heavy 4-1 defeat at home to Lyon. A result, and improved performance, will be needed tonight on home soil against FCSB, one of five clubs that have secured maximum points in this season's Europa League, having triumphed over Rigas FS and Greek champions PAOK. The Romanian side arrive in Scotland with five consecutive wins across all competitions and they are unbeaten in their last nine matches.

The odds for a Rangers win at 21/50 seem somewhat short, which may attract FCSB backers at 33/20 in the double-chance market, considering their impressive recent form of late.

I have avoided the match market for my first bet, in favour of backing the visitors at 4/5 to receive the most cards. FCSB's recent disciplinary record has been fruitful to say the least; in three of their last six matches, they have accumulated four or more yellow cards, with two players receiving red cards. They have outperformed their opponents in card counts in five of those six games and this record suggests they won't be shy in resorting to the dark arts tonight as they look to claim a result at Ibrox.

For my long shot, I have my sights set on a 25/1 double centred on FCSB's Daniel Birligea who I'm backing to score and be carded.

Birligea is enjoying a fine season in front of goal, scoring eight goals, three of which have come in his last three games. He's also scored in both of his side's Europa League wins this season. The club's president and owner Cica Becali certainly holds his new player in high regard:

"He is 23 years old. Once he reaches 25, he will be as good as Luis Suarez."

Additionally, Birligea appears to have a sprinkling of Suarez's tenacity about him too, having also shown a tendency to accumulate yellow cards. He's had one waved in his direction seven times since July, three of which have come in his last four games.

In October alone, he has already scored and been carded twice - and three times this season - and with appealing odds of 25/1, I believe he has a strong chance of scoring and getting carded once again tonight.
