PSV vs. Arsenal Betting Tips: Back plenty of goal-kicks for the hosts

Mikel Arteta takes his Arsenal side to the Netherlands on Thursday evening as they take on PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League. We’ve previewed the action and provided you with our best bets for the game. 

The Gunners currently sit top of the Group A table with four wins from a possible four. A point here in Eindhoven would be enough to secure top spot in the group for Arsenal who defeated Thursday’s opponents 1-0 at the Emirates seven days ago thanks to a goal from Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka was also on target in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Southampton on Sunday, although Mikel Arteta will have been disappointed not to see off Saints on the South Coast. Arsenal remain top of the pile in the Premier League, with a two point lead over Manchester City.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men head into Matchday 5 in second spot in Group A, three points ahead of Bodo Glimt in third who they play in the final round of fixtures. The former Manchester United striker and now PSV manager will be without some of his key players for this game, with Marco van Ginkel, Yorbe Vertessen and Kjell Peersman all absent. 

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith-Rowe are all confirmed absentees for the visitors, with starts expected for Fabio Viera, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson.

Arsenal have looked solid in the Europa League so far this season winning all four of their matches with an average of 17 shots per game, a total only bettered by Manchester United. Our first selection on Thursday comes with bet365, where we are backing PSV to have over 7.5 goal kicks at 5/6.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic start to the campaign with nine Eredivisie goals in 11 appearances. Gakpo also has managed three goals in four Europa League matches this term and with an average of 3 shots per game, he’s been showing clear intent to find the net. 

We are doubling this up with Eddie Nketiah of Arsenal to get his name on the scoresheet anytime in the 90 minutes. This is a competition Nketiah has performed well in over the last couple of years with five goals in his last 10 group game matches. The Arsenal forward let off six shots in the game with PSV last Thursday and at 19/2 we think this double looks a good value prospect for a game that could provide plenty of goal-mouth action.
