PSG vs Real Sociedad Tips
Real Sociedad’s matches in La Liga don’t often provide a whole lot of entertainment: just four of their 24 outings this term have seen four or more goals which includes each of the previous 11. La Real have now gone four games without finding the back of the net.
A lowly nine goals were scored in Real Sociedad’s group-stage matches; they’re organised and a tough side to break down. I’m not expecting this to be a thriller, PSG will have their work cut out and I’m confident we’ll see a maximum of three goals scored on Wednesday night.
Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in the world right now, he’s remarkably quick and certainly isn’t afraid to unleash a shot. The Frenchman is having an emphatic campaign for his club. He's scored 20 times in Ligue 1 this season in just 19 appearances as well as scoring in all three group-stage games at this stadium.
PSG’s superstar is averaging a hefty 5.29 shots per 90 in France’s topflight this term and 3.70 in the Champions League. His consistency is impressive, and he has every chance of recording at least three attempts against the Spanish opposition. Mbappe had five shots in each group stage game here with the proposed selection landing in each.
Igor Zubeldia is very consistent when it comes to committing a foul, especially away from home. The Spaniard has fouled an opponent in 10 of his 11 away appearances in La Liga in 2023/24 and has been penalised for a foul in all six Champions League matches. The defender certainly has his work cut out here with the likes of Mbappe, Dembele and Kolo Muani running at him.
Mbappe has scored in 10 of his 14 matches at Parc des Princes this term and has had plenty of joy here in this very competition. When Dortmund played here, Mbappe racked up 1.17xG, and had four shots on target and 0.55xG against Milan. In PSG's 1-1 draw with Newcastle, Mbappe had three shots on target, racked up a whopping 1.67xG and scored a last-gasp penalty.
We all know about Mbappe’s transfer speculation, he won’t be playing his football in France for much longer. This could be the final chance he has to win the Champions League for PSG so I'm sure he’ll want to put on a show for the remainder of the competition. The double comes out at a nice price at 7/4 with bet365; the stats are well on our side in what should be an intriguing affair.
