Premier League Predictions 2023/24: Four picks for Gameweek 8

Premier League Gameweek 8 only features the four televised games this weekend with Luton kicking us off after finishing the last Gameweek.
We have four of our predictions for these fixtures and provided a correct score for each one below.
Premier League Gameweek 8 Tips
Luton vs Tottenham Hotspur
- Saturday 7th October, 12:30, TNT Sports 1
Luton finished off the last Premier League Gameweek and will be starting this one with a very tough home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs have been the real surprise package of the season for me and under Ange Postecoglou they've been fantastic. Many thought they would struggle without Kane but their style of football remains as smooth as ever and going forward they've been a serious threat. It's hard to not side with Spurs here given the quality of their team and their recent results, Luton struggled in their last game against Burnley at home and this game will be a lot more brutal.
Steven McQuillan's Prediction: Luton 0-3 Spurs
Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest
- Saturday 7th October, 17:30, Sky Sports Main Event
Roy Hodgson will be pretty content with the start his troops have made, having collected 11 points from seven games which puts them 9th in the table above Man Utd, who they beat at Old Trafford last weekend. Crystal Palace will now be hunting for back-to-back league wins for the first time since April when they host Nottingham Forest, a side that have won just twice on the road since returning to the Premier League. I expect the hosts to prevail but the visitors - who admittedly did beat Chelsea at the Bridge recently - to make it very competitive.
Jack Kitson's Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Nottingham Forest
Brighton vs Liverpool
- Sunday 8th October, 14:00, Sky Sports Main Event
Brighton have conceded in every Premier League game they have featured in so far this season. Despite this heading into the weekend they are the top scorers in the division, but face a difficult task when taking on Liverpool on Saturday. It's easy to envisage goals in this clash, but I think Liverpool's firepower in the final-third gives them a massive edge here. Out for justice after the VAR shambles at Spurs. Liverpool can rack up the goals against a Brighton side who are still getting used to the demands of playing in domestic and European competition.
Anthony Eadson's Prediction: Brighton 1-4 Liverpool
Arsenal vs Man City
- Sunday 8th October, 16:30, Sky Sports Main Event
Having lost back-to-back matches before their midweek Champions League outing, Man City will be keen to right those wrongs in a crucial face off with Arsenal in this weekend's standout fixture.
Arsenal are a highly emotional team and that's positive for a lot of different reasons, but usually contributes to their downfall in this particular head-to-head. Community Shield penalty shootout aside, apprentice Arteta has steered his side to just a solitary FA Cup victory over his master's side in 11 attempts. Man City are the monkey that Mikel Arteta and The Gunners can't get off their back, and Sunday's meeting is likely to follow a similar script.
Luke Hamilton's Prediction: Arsenal 1-3 Man City
