Premier League Betting: Three to find the notebook in gameweek 10

Both gameweek eight and nine have proved profitable in our series highlighting potential betting opportunities around Premier League players being carded and @AnthonyEadson is back for gameweek ten with three football tips he has on the menu for this this weekend
Tariq Lamptey picked up a yellow card in the 89th minute to land a 10/3 winner last Saturday, before the 20-year-old picked up another and was sent off two minutes later. That’s two profitable weeks on the bounce after the 11/2 winner on Raheem Sterling against Liverpool. I’ll be playing the three singles once again this week, however for the optimists, the treble is best priced within BetVictor at 134/1.
Yves Bissouma to be carded @ 10/3 BetVictor
The first game from which I’ve selected a player to be carded comes on the South coast as Brighton entertain Liverpool at the Amex at 12:30pm on Saturday. One player who should line up in the centre of midfield for the hosts, is Yves Bissouma. No player at Brighton has picked up more yellow cards this season at Brighton than Bissouma, who has three to his name from eight games. Only Tariq Lamptey has committed more fouls for the seagulls this season and he will be in for a busy afternoon against Liverpool’s attack.
A key angle into this selection is that referee Stuart Attwell is taking charge of this game. This season in the Premier League, Attwell has the highest yellow cards per game average of any official so far, giving out a whopping six per game on average. And it’s no surprise this season that Attwell has been card happy, his average of 4.21 yellows per game was the highest of any referee in the league last season! With this in mind the 10/3 on offer for a Bissouma card looks an attractive play from BetVictor.

Next up I’m fancying Stuart Dallas to find his way into the notebook as Marcelo Bielsa’s take the trip across the M62 to face Everton at Goodison Park. Northern Irishman Dallas has been starting at left-back this season however dropped into central midfield in their most recent game with Arsenal. The 29-year-old has been booked three times in nine league appearances this season which does catch the eye.
At 11/2 with BetVictor I do feel Dallas is being overlooked a little here in the market. I think his chances of a booking can only increase by playing in the centre of the park and with warriors Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure in the middle for the hosts I think Dallas could get himself into a battle.
Chris Kavanagh is the referee here and he currently ranks third of nineteen when it comes to yellows brandished per game this season with 3.67 per game. This only bolsters our case for a Dallas booking on Saturday and at 11/2, this could be a valuable proposition.
The final player I’m backing for a card this weekend is Kyle Walker-Peters who should start at right-back for Southampton against Manchester United at 2:00pm on Sunday. Priced at 9/2 with William Hill for a card, Walker-Peters has picked up three in the league already this term in just nine matches.
A large part of my thinking into this one, is that Manchester United do a lot of their attacking down the left, especially away from home. This season in the league 48% of United’s attacks on the road have been down the left with 27% coming down the middle and 25% down the right. With Alex Telles showing his ability to get forward and to get balls into the box I think this will be a key area on the pitch on Sunday.
John Moss is the referee in charge of this match and his yellow card figures are pretty healthy this term. Moss has officiated five Premier League games in 2020/21 and has brandished 18 yellows. That’s 3.6 per game and which ranks joint fourth out of nineteen this season and with all things considered 9/2 looks a fair price on a Kyle Walker-Peters card.
Remember these selections come over both Saturday and Sunday this week. Best of luck to those following, let’s hope for a third consecutive profitable weekend. Please always gamble responsibly.
