Premier League Betting: Could Callum Wilson be an attractive each-way prospect in the top scorer market at 50/1

The new Premier League season commences on Friday 5 August with Crystal Palace hosting Arsenal in the opening fixture. We've asked our contributors for their best ante-post tips for the season ahead and today @TipsterJ has provided us with his thoughts and highlighted three selections that he likes the look of.
Ante Post Tips
Crystal Palace to finish in the top half @9/4 – Bet365
My Best bet for the season comes in the form of backing Crystal Palace for a top half finish, at a generous price of 9/4. Patrick Vieira guided the Eagles to 12th in the Premier League last season as well as reaching an FA Cup semi final – another progressive season could well be on the cards.
The top 7 looks hard to break into – Man City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Man United, Arsenal and West Ham look set to occupy them spots, but 8th, 9th and 10th look open as ever.
There is no doubting the incredible job Patrick Vieira has done so far as the Eagles boss. The Frenchman has transformed this palace side which has involved a huge change in play-style. Under Roy Hodgson they would often play with 11 behind the ball, to now playing a much more attacking style of football which has certainly pleased the Palace fans as they certainly have the players for it.
I see another season of progress for Vieira’s men, so backing them for a top half finish looks a great bet. They finished in the top half on expected points last season, but missed out by just 3 points.
Brighton, Villa, Newcastle and Leicester are all much shorter prices than the eagles to finish in the top 10 but I definitely feel Crystal Palace are well equipped to push into the top half.
Mohamed Salah top Scorer @9/2 & Callum Wilson top scorer @50/1 (ew)
Two plays for the golden boot at different ends of the spectrum. Mohamed Salah is the second favourite at 9/2 to collect his 4th golden boot in 6 seasons. The Liverpool Ace looks a solid bet once again to retain his top scorer award. After penning down a three year deal the Egyptian has shown no signs of slowing down, and as Salah won’t be going to the World Cup this year I think he has every opportunity to do so. The LFC forward has netted 118 league goals across his last 5 seasons, and at 9/2 I think it is worth a wager, in favour of Erling Halaand (11/4).
Callum Wilson is part of the Newcastle side on an upward trajectory, and they have yet to sign a striker a week prior to the new season starting. Wilson will always score goals whenever he plays, it’s just his injury record that probably results in this being priced a 50/1 shot. Wilson has managed 20 goals in his last 44 appearances in the premier league which is more than enough for a EW return, it’s just a case of hoping he can stay injury free. The platform is there for the Newcastle striker to have a big season.
