Premier League Top Goalscorer Odds
Now we analyse the top contenders in the Premier League Top Scorer betting, according to the latest odds.
Erling Haaland - 2/5
Erling Haaland blasted in a remarkable 36 goals in his debut Premier League season, smashing the record for a standard 38-game season.
Bookmakers then took no chances ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, installing the goal-machine as the odds-on frontrunner at 8/11 to win back-to-back awards before a ball was kicked.
These odds have been slashed to just 2/5 following a return of 14 goals in 16 appearances despite a five-game absence due to a stress reaction of the bone.
Mohamed Salah - 4/1
Pre-season last term's runner-up Harry Kane was the 7/1 second favourite to be crowned top goalscorer. Kane then jetted off to Germany, where he's been busy setting new goalscoring records in the Bundesliga, meanwhile the Egyptian Salah, a former Golden Boot winner, has conjured his own challenge to Haaland with 14 goals in 20 outings.
Liverpool’s talisman, who scored 30 goals in all competitions in 2022/23 - with 19 of those coming in the league - has been cut from 8/1 to 4/1; odds which have shortened despite his participation at AFCON 2023 and subsequent injury sustained during international duty.
Dominic Solanke - 10/1
This season's surprise package remains Dominic Solanke - the prized possession that Bournemouth managed to hang onto during the January transfer window.
Only Haaland and Salah have outscored his total of 13 goals, who has been heavily backed for an England call-up ahead of a pivotal EURO 2024 tournament during the summer.
Solanke, who was named as the first ever Premier League Player of the Month for Bournemouth in December, has netted against the likes of Newcastle, Man United and Aston Villa this term, and could be a real challenger to the throne currently occupied by Man City's No.9.
Son Heung-min - 12/1
Out at 50/1 in early August, Son Heung-min is the big mover in this market to 12/1.
Like two of the three players above him in the betting, the South Korean has won the accolade before when he scored 23 goals during the 2021/22 season (alongside Mo Salah), however, he then only just about made it to double figures last season.
Now, under the guidance of Ange Postecoglou, he's burst out of the blocks this season and has already surpassed last season's tally with 12 in 20, which includes participation at the 2023 Asian Cup.
Ollie Watkins - 14/1
Another player who has been critical in front of goal is Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins. The English striker is second to only Mohamed Salah for his combined goals and assist tally for the campaign (21).
Watkins carries 11 goals in 23 matches and has seen a noticeable improvement in his all-round game since Unai Emery's arrival in Birmingham.
Villa look to be real contenders for Champions League football and if they are to maintain that assault on the division's top four then the 28-year-old will be crucial to their chances.
Other Mentions
Jarrod Bowen (33/1) has 11 strikes and has helped push The Hammers up into 7th in the Premier League standings.
Richarlison (50/1) has smashed home nine of his 10 goals in the last eight matches and carries a real deadly touch in the penalty box at the moment.
Darwin Nunez, the new record holder for the most times a player has hit the woodword in a single match (4) has seven goals, seven assists and seven yellows across his 22 PL appearances, posing a constant threat to opposition defences with his uncharacteristic abilities.
