Plymouth Argyle vs. Cheltenham Town Predictions: Pilgrims to edge a high scoring game

There is just one game in League One midweek between promotion chasing Plymouth Argyle and mid table Cheltenham Town and we've asked our man Adam Roberts to look at this one. He's studied the stats and the form and given us his best two bets.
Plymouth Argyle vs. Cheltenham Town Tips
The Pilgrims come into this fixture in superb form; winning their last five straight without conceding a single goal! Steven Schumacher will be keen to continue their winning streak towards the end of the season. They are only eight points from automatic promotion and should they fair to make the top two, entering the play offs in this kind of form would strike fear into any team facing them.
The Robins sit comfortably in mid table, following a good run of form themselves, winning three of their last four and only losing two of their last 11 fixtures. Michael Duff will be hugely encouraged by their recent performances and will be hoping to finish the season strong with an eye on the 2022/23 season.
Team News:
Argyle are without George Cooper, Alfie Lewis, Brendan Galloway and Dan Scarr throough injury and Schumacher will also be without Panutche Camara and Luke Jephcott who are away on international duty with Guinea-Bissau and Wales U21s.
Town have no known injury issues and will likely name an unchanged team.
First up I've gone for Plymouth to win and BTTS. I was originally going to tip up a Pilgrims win to nil, given that they've won their last five without conceding. However, Cheltenham are on a great run themselves and are free-scoring - Only Wigan and Ipswich have stopped them from scoring in their last 11 games - a period they've scored 23 goals in! I think given the attacking ability on both sides, we could be looking at a high scoring game here, with Argyle to nick the win late on.
Talking of Cheltenham's fire power we move onto my 2nd selection. bet365 have boosted Town striker Alfie May to score first all the way out to 8/1. May is on a real tear at the moment - scoring four in four and a colossal 12 in his last 10 league fixtures, adding 19 in total for the season. His shots and shots on target have gone through the roof in recent weeks. Against Wycombe he had 8 shots, 7 SoT, scoring 4 goals in a ridiculous 5-5 draw! In total May has 43 shots and 23 SoT in his last 10 outings - a stunning amount. The 28-year-old has plied his trade at non-league through most of his career but after a three year spell at Doncaster, Cheltenham took a chance on him in 2020 and have been richly rewarded, scoring 34 goals in just 94 games.
I'm having a small stake on him adding to that tally tonight.
If you like the look of either of these picks then good luck and gamble responsibly.
