Nottingham Forest vs. Liverpool Betting Tips: Two data-driven picks for the early kick-off in Nottingham
We’ve got two selections from the early game in the Premier League for you to look at ahead of a busy weekend.
Nottingham Forest continue to struggle and were fortunate to earn a point against Brighton midweek. Cooper’s men absorbed a lot of pressure against Brighton and a resurgent Liverpool could put them to the sword.
It seems inevitable that Forest will be embroiled in a relegation battle this season. They have struggled to gel as a squad after making a number of acquisitions in the summer. But the club have kept the faith with Steve Cooper and there is hope that they will turn the corner shortly.
Liverpool followed up their win over Man City with a win over West Ham. Klopp’s men conceded a number of good chances against West Ham, but they were able to earn all three points and gain some momentum.
Liverpool will now set their sights on breaking into the top four. They will be hopeful of battling their way into a title race with a tremendous run of form like the one they had after a slow start last season. But Klopp will have his team focused on one game at a time.
Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool Tips
This game should be wave after wave of Liverpool attack. The reds will lay siege to the home sides’ goal and this should mean a good number of shots. Liverpool are averaging over 18 shots per game in all competitions this season. At the time of writing, bet 365 has no alternative shot lines available. So we will bank on Liverpool’s shots leading to goal kicks.
Klopp’s men have forced an average of 10 goal kicks from their opponents this season. While Forest themselves are averaging over 9 goal kicks per game. Cooper’s men were penned into their own defensive third for large parts of the game against Brighton. They had 13 goal kicks in that match, and I expect this one to play out in a similar fashion.
Throws also look a good bet in this one. Forest’s matches are averaging just short of 40 throws. Their last match against Brighton saw 40 throws. Liverpool matches are averaging over 42 throws. The high pressing Liverpool side should keep their opponents penned in and result in flurry’s of throws as the home side look to retain possession.
Using the Bet 365 bet builder, we can get odds of 1.95 for over 36.5 throws in the match and over 8.5 goal kicks for Nottingham Forest.
For the longer odds bet, I’m going to take the Liverpool shot line we have previously mentioned. Over 19.5 shots is priced at 1.83 with Bet 365 as a single, and Liverpool could comfortably clear this line on Saturday. Liverpool had 22 shots against West Ham despite scoring early. The shots could fly if Forest avoid conceding early on.
I’m also going to add over 42.5 throws in the match and over 9.5 goal kicks for the home side. Liverpool's throw average is 42.53. Their opponents also average above the required amount of goal kicks for this bet to land.
