Norwich vs. Burnley Betting Tips: Two tips for tasty Championship clash

Norwich and Burnley lock horns at Carrow Road in the Championship on Saturday lunchtime live on Sky Sports Main Event.

The Burnley steam train continues to power towards an instant return to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany who has won 18 and lost just two of his 28 Championship matches to date.

Burnley have won 12 of their last 13 matches in the division and head to Norfolk on the back of an eight game winning run. As for Norwich, they dumped Dean Smith just after Christmas and opted for the services of former Huddersfield boss David Wagner. The German-American has made an instant impact in the league, conjuring up a 4-0 win at Preston followed by a 4-2 victory at Coventry to fire the Canaries to within a point of the top-6 and within three points of 3rd.

A third win in a row over high-flying Burnley would be a real statement of intent, with SBK offering a best-price on this outcome at 81/50, while a draw can be found at 23/10 with bet365.

Goals should be on the menu at Carrow Road given that the clash pits together the highest scorers in the Championship (Burnley: 55 goals) against a team that has scored four goals in both of their league fixtures under new boss David Wagner (Norwich).

Kieran Dowell has been responsible for three of those eight goals under Wagner, while Teemu Pukki has two on the board over the two games. Everything seems to have clicked since Wagner's arrival and while Burnley offer the sternest of tests, Norwich are brimming with confidence and will be roared on by a revitalised home support.

Opponents Burnley have scored in 27 of their 28 Championship games, including the last 25 in succession dating back to the hazy days of early August.

As mentioned, Kompany's troops are the highest scorers and while they surprisingly don't have a single player in the top-10 of the scoring charts, their goals have been well distrubuted throughout the team with Nathan Tella and Jay Rodriguez both registering nine to date, and Benson Manuel seven.

Nathan Tella may have struggled for both game time and goals at Southampton, yet he's sparkled under the tutelage of Kompany at Burnley. The winger is Burnley's joint top-scorer with nine goals to his name including a strike last time out in the 2-1 win over West Brom. He's recorded six shots on target in his last seven games and, like Dowell, looks well worth backing at even money in this category.
