Next Republic of Ireland Manager Odds: Latest on Lee Carsley, Roy Keane, Neil Lennon and Chris Hughton

Republic of Ireland are looking for a new manager following the departure of Stephen Kenny last week.

Kenny, who replaced Mick McCarthy in 2020, won just 11 of his 40 matches in charge and leaves following the completion of a poor Euro 2024 qualification campaign which saw The Boys In Green fail to make it through to next summer's tournament.

Who could replace Kenny in the hot-seat?

We've taken a look at the contenders in the betting below.

Roy Keane, Lee Carsley, Neil Lennon, and Chris Hughton are all in the frame according to latest bookmaker odds.

Roy Keane, 3/1, played 67 times for his country between 1991 and 2005, scoring nine goals, while he later worked as an assistant under Martin O'Neill.

Keane has not managed outright since leaving Ipswich over 12 years ago, however, he has teased a return to management on numerous occasions in recent years.

Hot on Keane's heels you'll find former Ireland international Lee Carsley at 9/2.

Carsley led England to European Under-21 Championship glory back in July, which was their first success since 1984. His talented side won all six matches and didn't even concede a goal.

Carsley can also be found in the betting to replace Gareth Southgate if he were to leave England, with William Hill offering a best-price of 8/1 for the 49-year-old to step up to the plate and manage the senior team.

Out-of-work for a year after leaving Cypriot side Omonia, Neil Lennon is next in the running at 6/1.

Lennon is best known for his two high-profile and successful spells in charge of Celtic, during which he won five league titles and five domestic cups.

He also led Hibernian to the Scottish Championship title and later into the Europa League, while he had a less impactful spell south of the border at Bolton.

Meanwhile, Chris Hughton has come into the mix at 8/1, having initially been a 25/1 outsider in the betting.

The former Newcastle and Brighton boss has been in charge of Ghana since February - he was previously a technical advisor - and is currently preparing for January's AFCON with his side drawn against Egypt, Ghana, and Mozambique in Group B.

The experienced trio of Steve Bruce, Sam Allardyce, and Neil Warnock can both be found at 20/1, alongside Irishmen Damien Duff and Mark Kennedy.

The latter was most recently in charge of Lincoln City, while Duff has been in charge of Shelbourne since 2021 and was recently linked with The Imps following the departure of the aforementioned Kennedy.

As for Bruce, he has an assortment of 12 clubs on his managerial CV, plus four promotions to the Premier League.

He's not been seen since he was sacked by West Brom in October 2022 after just 32 games, which followed a very intense spell at Newcastle.

Allardyce, who started his managerial career at Limerick, also has buckets of experience at club level - as well as an infamous one game stint in charge of England - but like Bruce his best days are behind him.

The 69-year-old's last two posts have ended in relegation from the Premier League while he's only managed a combined 112 games from his last six jobs.

Warnock, 74, remains unemployed since his surprise departure from Huddersfield earlier this season. The veteran boss has been in the managerial arena since 1980, but has yet to step into the waters of international management.

Other names in the betting at this early stage in proceedings include Gus Poyet, Kieran McKenna, John Eustace, Scott Parker, and Robbie Keane.
