Next England Manager Odds: Thomas Tuchel odds-on frontrunner
Thomas Tuchel remains the bookmakers' favourite to become the next England manager after the Three Lions returned to winning ways against Finland in the Nations League.
The German had earlier been installed as the new frontrunner for the permanent post in the aftermath of England's shock defeat to Greece, which dented the prospects of interim boss Lee Carsley getting the permanent job.
Continue reading for some elaboration on the top contenders in the betting, in addition to the full catalogue of names in contention according to bookmakers.
Thomas Tuchel: 1/2
Could we see a German in charge of the England national team? Well, Thomas Tuchel's odds have shortened further to 1/2 with bet365 to become Gareth Southgate's full-time successor.
Tuchel possesses extensive experience in high-level management, adeptly handling big personalities and high expectations. His career includes tenures at Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund, with his notable achievement being the Champions League triumph with Chelsea over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
In contrast to several other prominent candidates, Tuchel is currently available for hire, although rumours are circulating that he could be in-line to replace the under-fire Erik ten Hag at Man Utd.
Lee Carsley: 4/1
Lee Carsley was previously the red-hot favourite following comfortable back-to-back wins against the Republic of Ireland and Finland. However, his chances of landing the top job now look bleak following England's disastrous showing against Greece, who won 2-1 in front of a shellshocked Wembley.
Carsley's strategy of deploying several creative attacking players without a designated striker spectacularly backfired as a vulnerable England were frequently exposed by the Greeks who had multiple goals disallowed.
However, Carsley did at least respond with a 3-1 win away to Finland, and the 4/1 shot has stopped short of completely ruling himself out of the running.

Pep Guardiola: 6/1
Pep Guardiola, 6/1, would no doubt be the dream candidate, but whether he'd be tempted by the job remains to be seen.
Guardiola is currently bidding to win his fifth straight Premier League title while also striving for success in the domestic cup competitions and the Champions League.
The FA would have to play the long-game here, although it's worth noting that Guardiola's contract expires next summer, so there is a flicker of hope. However, at this present moment, the chances do seem remote, unless something significant happens in Manchester City's ongoing situation regarding the 115 charges related to alleged financial rule violations.
Graham Potter: 16/1
Graham Potter, formerly of Brighton and more recently Chelsea, is worth keeping an eye on at 8/1 given his current availability and eagerness to get back into the dugout.
The 49-year-old has expressed that he is 'open to anything' amidst speculation linking him to both the England national team and Manchester United, while this week he has been mentioned as a potential successor to Gary O'Neil should he leave struggling Wolves.
Despite his brief and challenging stint at Chelsea, Potter's qualifications and tactical acumen still position him as a viable option at 16/1 to lead England into the 2026 World Cup.
Eddie Howe: 33/1
Newcastle's Eddie Howe has long been touted as a future England manager, holding many of the same character traits as Southgate, while attracting many suitors as a young, dynamic head coach with an eye for attractive football.
Howe was not interviewed by the FA back in 2016 due to the feeling that he had a lack of top-flight experience, something he now possesses in abundance. His knack for developing players will also stand him in good stead for the job, however, luring him away from the ongoing project on Tyneside may carry its challenges.
Formerly the favourite, Howe is now way out at 33/1.
