Newcastle vs. Brighton Predictions: Back The Toon to continue their good form on Saturday

One of the Premier League’s form sides, Newcastle, in the midst of a superb revival under Eddie Howe, face Graham Potter’s Brighton on Saturday in the Premier League.
Newcastle vs Brighton Tips
A win for Newcastle would leave them 14th in the table, but take them up to 28 points, and potentially seven clear of the drop zone, which considering the position they were in at the start of the year, is a remarkable turnaround. Unbeaten in seven league games coming into this fixture, they’ll more than fancy themselves against a Brighton side who, despite all their plaudits, are in a bit of a slump in form themselves.
Saint-Maximin, Wilson and Trippier remain ruled out for the hosts, as are Mwepu and Webster for the visitors. As ever, we’ve previewed the game, and put together two tips for you to cast your eyes over.
First off, we’ve got Newcastle to win to nil. The Magpies have conceded the least amount of goals in the Premier League in 2022, letting in just three, compared to a whopping 42 in the months up to January! This bet has also landed in three of their last five league games, with their other victory being a 3-1 win over Everton. They’ve shown a steely resolve in recent weeks, and their ability to find the net has also ramped up in that time.
Brighton are on a run of three successive defeats in the league, losing by an aggregate score of 0-7, so it’s fair to say that they’re struggling at the minute. They’ve also conceded two or more goals in three consecutive fixtures for the first time since November 2019. This bet is best priced at 18/5 with Unibet, compared to 10/3 with Bet365 and others.
Next up, we’re going big and bold with this one. Chris Wood has yet to score OR be booked for Newcastle, but all good things must come to an end. I hear you screaming, Pete, what are you thinking, you’re a madman! But, despite not having bagged for The Toon yet, Chris Wood has scored a career high eight league goals against Brighton, and it seems there’s no better time to play them right now.
Wood has only been booked once this season, back in his Burnley days, but he’s averaging just over two fouls per game on Tyneside, and Newcastle’s forwards have seen the book a few times this season. Joelinton has seen yellow on five separate occasions, with Saint-Maximin and Wilson each on four, showing that they all aren’t afraid to get stuck in.
Good luck if you’re following any of these bets, and please gamble responsibly.
