Newcastle vs. Arsenal Predictions: Expect goals in this important clash on Monday night

Live on Sky Sports, Newcastle host Arsenal in this all important Premier League clash this Monday night at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle vs Arsenal Tips
The hosts currently sit 14th in the league table with 43 points and have confirmed their status as a Premier League club for another season after a remarkable job done by Eddie Howe. After a run of 4 wins in a row, they have lost their last 2 games against Manchester City (5-0) and Liverpool (1-0). However, coming up against an Arsenal side riddled with defensive injuries, the hosts will fancy their chances of pulling off a result. Arteta’s men were hammered 3-0 by fierce rivals Tottenham on Thursday but getting that all-important 4th spot is still in their hands.
They are 2 points behind Spurs with 2 games to play so if they win both their remaining games against Newcastle & Everton, they will be playing in the Champions League next season. The pressure is well and truly on and I expect a tense affair for Arsenal as Newcastle will definitely pose a tough challenge.
A massive Monday night clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:
Jonjo Shelvey, Willock, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden & Jamal Lewis are out for Newcastle while Ryan Fraser & Federico Fernandez are doubtful.
Thomas Partey, Kieren Tierney & Rob Holding are out for Arsenal while Gabriel Magalhaes is doubtful.
Newcastle possible starting lineup:
Dubravka; Trippier, Lascelles, Burn, Targett; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Saint-Maximin
Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Ramsdale; Cedric, Tomiyasu, White, Tavares; Xhaka, Elneny; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Nketiah
This will be Newcastle’s final home game of the season and they have no reason to play defensively. Important attacker Callum Wilson is now back and they will be looking to take advantage of Arsenal’s defensive absences. Defensive midfielder Partey is out and defenders backs Gabriel, Holding and Tierney also won’t be able to make it. This is an absolute must win for Arteta’s men so expect them to push hard for goals from the start. They have seen at least 3 goals scored in their last 5 consecutive league games and I expect that trend to continue here.
Take Over 2.5 goals @ 9/11 with a 1pt stake as our main bet for the game.
Bruno Guimaraes has been an extremely influential player for the Magpies since his arrival at the club scoring 4 goals in just 9 starts for the club including 3 goals in his last 5 games. He has also seen 4 yellow cards in this run with 3 of those coming in his last 5 appearances for the club. Based on these stats, 29/1 is a massive price for this long-shot double considering it has already landed twice in his last 5 appearances for the club. I will have a very small 0.25pt stake on this as my final bet for this game.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
