Napoli vs. AC Milan Betting Tips: Partenopei to take another step towards Scudetto

These two sides have been drawn against each other in the Champions League quarter-finals and will face each other three times in the next two and a half weeks. Napoli have been ruthless this season and are currently 19 points clear at the top of the league with plans in Naples for a huge celebration already taking place for when they are crowned Scudetto winners for the first time since 1990.

Stefano Pioli’s team currently occupy the fourth spot in their domestic standings and will see this game as crucial in order to prepare for their two-legged Champions League tie and not head into that off the back of a poor performance.

Taking a look at the match result odds for this clash and unsurprisingly, Napoli are the favourites with all betting sites to take the three points on Sunday, priced at 9/10 to do so. The draw is on offer at 5/2 and a win for the visitors is available at odds of 7/2.

First up it’s worth pointing out that Napoli will be without their star man for this game, striker Victor Osimhen. After 21 league goals in 23 appearances, it is sure to be a huge blow for the hosts with Osimhen missing out due to a muscular injury, but we believe this side will still have enough to see off Milan and are siding with them to win the match at 9/10.

We are happy to embrace this slightly bigger price we are getting here than what we would be getting should Osimhen not have picked up an injury. Last time out, a rampant Partenopei continued their stunning season with a 4-0 win on the road at Torino. They have now won 10 of their last 11 league matches and this train does not look to be slowing down anytime soon.

In contrast, AC Milan have not displayed strong performances in the matches before the international break and are winless in their last four in all competitions. That quartet of fixtures features league defeats on the road at Udinese and Fiorentina in Serie A, and with that in mind all things point to a home win. 

For those who like something at a little bit more of a price, we have also picked out Napoli to win the game with a -1 match handicap, as well as their midfielder Frank Zambo Anguissa to be carded. When reading back through Napoli’s results in recent months it was quite eye-catching to see that all of their last eight victories have been by a two or more goal margin. This brings the -1 handicap into a potential play on Sunday and we’ll be doubling that up with Zambo Anguissa to concede 2+ fouls.

Only Victor Osimhen (31) has given away more fouls for Napoli this season than Cameroon International Anguissa. In six of his last 11 matches, he has committed at least two fouls, including seven across his last two league appearances.
