Manchester United v FC Copenhagen Tips: Greenwood to get on the scoresheet in Germany

It’s another busy week of European football with Monday night seeing Manchester United take on FC Copenhagen in the Europa League quarter-final. The game will be played in a neutral venue in Cologne, and after United’s win against LASK in the last 16, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are now the 15/8 favourites in the Europa League winner market, in what would be second time in four years they have lifted the trophy.
After fielding a predominantly second string side last week against Austrian outfit LASK, The Reds are expected to make wholesale changes and be back to full strength with the prolific front line of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood all expected to start. Sergio Romero could keep his place in goal with Brandon Williams staying on at left back. Jonas Wind scored twice for Copenghagen in the last round against Istanbul Basaksehir and could be one to watch for the Danish side this evening.
It’s worth noting that this game will go to extra time and penalties if needed as it’s played over one leg due to the coronavirus. Having a look at the prices to win inside 90 minutes and United are the 1/5 favourites with bet365, with the draw being offered at 5/1. Copenhagen have beaten Celtic and Basaksehir in this season’s competition and a huge win from them here can be backed at 12/1, an implied probability of just 7.7%
Mason Greenwood to score anytime - 1.5pts @ 11/8 betfair exchange
Man Utd to win both halves, Man Utd most corners each half - 0.5pts @ 15/2 Paddy Power
Fernandes to score, Wan-Bissaka & Varela to be carded - 0.5pts @ 25/1 Paddy Power
My first selection here in Cologne is for Mason Greenwood to score in the match, currently priced at 11/8 on the Betfair Exchange. It’s been some season for young Mason at Manchester United. He has 18 goals in all competitions this season and at the age of just 18, he’s a young man who’s going places, fast!
In the Europa League this season he is averaging an impressive 2.4 shots on goal per game and has scored five goals in just five starts. His odds of 11/8, currently only available on the Betfair Exchange look a little generous for my liking, and I’ll be having a little dabble this evening.
Next up here I’ve opted for Manchester United to win both halves and Manchester United to take the most corners in both halves at 15/2 with Paddy Power. I’m a little disappointed I missed out the 9/1 that was available from both Betfair and Paddy Power this morning on this selection, however I still believe it can be a profitable one.
I see United back to full strength and putting Copenhagen to the sword here. The attacking power shown over the second half of the season is Champions League-worthy in my opinion and I see them racking up the goals and dominating the match tonight.
Six of United’s last seven Europa League fixtures have seen over 2.5 goals and they have only been beaten once in their last 21 games in this competition. I don’t think too much of Copenhagen and would go as far as saying they were rather lucky to progress in the competition against Celtic.
Onto my longshot for the evening and at 25/1 with PaddyPower I’m going for Bruno Fernandes to score, Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be carded and Guilermo Valera to be carded.
One of the main factors in Manchester United’s success in the second half of this season has been the introduction of Bruno Fernandes. He’s been magnificent since arriving in January, contributing seven assists and eight league goals and helping his side to finish third in the table. He’s actually the joint-top scorer in this season’s Europa League with six goals and I’m backing him to find the net here tonight against FC Copenhagen.
I’ve gone for two players to be carded in this Same Game Multi and the first of those is United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka. I’ve had some joy when tipping up the right back to be carded in recent months including a three-game streak of yellows in July. No other Manchester United player has been booked more times than him this season in the league with eight, and at the prices, he’s the one I want onside to pick up another here.
Some Manchester United fans may remember right back Guilermo Varela who made four Premier League appearances for the club back in 2015/16. He’s since been on loan to Frankfurt and then back to his home club, Penarol, in Uruguay’s capital Montivideo. I fancy him to be in for a long night against Marcus Rashford, with Brandon Williams often bombing forward on the overlap.
Putting those three elements together pays 25/1 with Paddy Power, however most customers should have a ‘power up’ odds boost which should take it to 28/1. For those without a Paddy Power account there may be 33/1 knocking around with bet365. The game can be seen live on BT Sport at 20:00, and as always please remember to gamble responsibly.
