Live on Sky Sports, Manchester City host Liverpool in this title-deciding top of the table clash in the premier league this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium. This is an absolute blockbuster of a clash between two of England’s best clubs and the winner will surely propel themselves towards the title.
Man City v Liverpool Tips
Only one point separates the two sides coming into this all important game with Liverpool boasting a better goal difference. Both teams are coming off wins in their UCL quarterfinal 1st legs and will be looking to take a giant step towards the crown this Sunday. It was an entertaining 2-2 draw the last time these 2 sides met back in October and considering the attacking prowess of both teams, we could be in for another cracker on Sunday.
This is an extremely hard game to predict which is why I will be avoiding result based betting and will be looking into other markets instead.
A mouth-watering title-decider awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:
Ruben Dias, Cole Palmer & Benjamin Mendy are out for Manchester City.
Liverpool travel to the Etihad with a fully fit squad.
Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Cancelo; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling
Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz
- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Manchester City
- Over 0 cards in the 2nd half for Liverpool
- Over 0 goals in the 2nd half for both teams combined
This is a potential title-decider and I expect both teams to be fired up. I expect aggressive tackles and cynical fouls from both sides particularly in the second half as the game is nearing towards the end.
Both teams were awarded three cards each in the reverse leg at the Anfield and I expect another feisty affair. We have Anthony Taylor as the referee and the last time he was in charge of a Liverpool game, we saw six yellow cards and a red card.
As the final part of my bet builder, I am including a goal to be scored in the second half by either side. With such huge stakes, we could see both teams starting off cautiously trying not to give away too many opportunities but as we enter the second half, we could see defences opening up.
The reverse leg ended 2-2 with all four goals being scored in the second half and we should see at-least one second half goal being scored here.
Combining these three selections gives us a cracking bet builder @ 1.80 and I am happy to stake 1pt on it as my main bet for this massive top of the table clash.
Fabinho is Liverpool’s most booked player and loves a cynical foul. He was also booked in the reverse leg in October.
Cancelo is Manchester City’s joint most booked player with five yellow cards to his name. He was also booked in the reverse leg back in October and will be up against the tricky Salah.
Finally, Foden has been a creative spark in City’s attack and he demonstrated his ability in the 22 minutes he played against Atletico Madrid by grabbing an assist. I am banking on him to repeat that feat and get another assist here in this all important clash.
Combining these three selections gives us a massive longshot @ 40/1 and I am happy to stake a very small 0.25pt on that as our final bet.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
