Man City vs. Sevilla Betting Tips: Two bets for Champions League clash
Man City host Sevilla at the Etihad on Wednesday night in a match that can be viewed live on BT Sport 3 at 8pm.
Below we preview the Champions League clash and provide you with a couple of tips…
Man City vs Sevilla Tips
Group G is already settled. Man City are group winners, regardless of the outcome of the results on Wednesday night. Dortmund are also through in 2nd spot, Sevilla will finish 3rd and drop down into their favoured Europa League (knockout round play-offs), while Copenhagen will finish 4th.
We should therefore expect a big dose of Pep Roulette when Man City take on Sevilla at the Etihad. However, the City boss will be keen to end the group stages on a winning note after back-to-back draws against Dortmund and Copenhagen.
Guardiola has already stated that Erling Haaland won’t feature, and we could also see Kevin de Bruyne take the night off. Julián Álvarez is expected to start for the third game in a row, it will be interesting to see if Phil Foden returns to the starting line-up after he was restricted to a substitute appearance against Leicester, whereas one or two academy graduates could feature.

Sevilla, who are now managed by the returning Jorge Sampaoli, have won two, lost two and drawn three since the Argentine replaced Julen Lopetegui last month, which includes an unbeaten four points from two Champions League games.
Man City are eight wins from eight games in front of their own fans this season and are as short as 1/5 to round things off with their fourth Group G win. Sevilla are 12/1 to pocket the three points, with a draw priced at 6/1.
It’s not been the best of seasons so far for Sevilla, reflected in their manager change last month.
However, the Spanish side do have a cluster of extremely talented players nestled within their ranks, including Ivan Rakitić, Isco, Erik Lamela, and Adnan Januzaj, who can all pose a threat to City’s unbeaten run in the competition.
Isco, a five time Champions League winner with former club Real Madrid, has featured in all five of Sevilla’s Champions League games since his summer switch.
He scored in the 3-0 win over Copenhagen last week and is averaging a shot on target per game in the competition.
I like the look of the attacking midfielder keeping this trend going, with bet365 offering odds of 11/4 for over 0.5 shots by Isco at the Etihad on Wednesday night. This appeals even more when compared to some other bookmakers who have the player priced up at odds-on to have a shot on target.
Did you know that bet365 pay your team out as a winner if they go 2 goals ahead at any time in the match (available on over 80 leagues and competitions, T&C's apply). Find out more on our bet365 offers page.
While we associate a glut of goals with Pep Guardiola’s Man City, the club’s last five games have resulted in the following scorelines: 0-0, 1-0, 3-1, 0-0 and 0-1.
Four of those matches have gone under 2.5 goals, including two Champions League games which have both been 0-0.
With their clash against Sevilla effectively a dead rubber coupled with the possible resting of high-profile attacking players, there’s every chance that Wednesday’s match could go down a similar avenue, making BetVictor’s 2/1 price for under 2.5 goals a bet to ponder.
