Man City vs. Newcastle Predictions: Back this 25/1 Bet Builder bookings double at the Etihad

Man City v Newcastle Odds
Live on Sky Sports, Manchester City host Newcastle in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium this Sunday.
Guardiola’s men were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday in dramatic fashion as Real Madrid scored two late goals to take the game into extra-time and then a Benzema penalty finished the tie.
It was a massive blow for the hosts who were looking to qualify for the Champions League final for the second year in a row. City will have to quickly move on as they look to be in the driving seat for the Premier League title.
They currently sit second in the table on goal difference, as Liverpool dropped two points against Conte’s Tottenham on Saturday. The hosts can go three points clear at the top of the table and Guardiola will have to make sure his players have forgotten about the Champions League setback and are fully concentrated on the challenge ahead of them.
Man City v Newcastle Tips
- Betbuilder @ 4/5 - 1pt (Bet365) - Selections Below.
- Cancelo + Joelinton BOOKED @ 25/1 – 0.25pt (Bet365)
The visitors Newcastle have had an an impressive second half of the season after strengthening their squad. They are in decent form winning four of their last five league games with the loss coming against Liverpool by a one goal margin.
The reverse fixture ended 4-0 in favour of Manchester City but this could potentially be tighter than most people expect. With City having played an intense 120 minutes of football midweek and Newcastle having had a full week to prepare, we could have a potentially competitive fixture.
An exciting premier league clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with two of my best betting angles included in the preview below:
Team News:
Benjamin Mendy, John Stones & Kyle Walker are out for Manchester City.
Callum Wilson, Trippier, Ryan Fraser, Ciaran Clark, Isaac Hayden & Jamal Lewis are out for Newcastle while Fabian Schar is doubtful.
Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko; Bernardo, Rodri, De Bruyne; Sterling, Foden, Grealish
Newcastle possible starting lineup:
Dubravka; Krafth, Lascelles, Burn, Targett; Willock, Shelvey, Guimaraes; Almiron, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin
- Manchester City to win
- Under 5 goals in the match for both teams combined
- Raheem Sterling Over 0.5 shots in the match
Manchester City can take a huge step towards the Premier League title with a win here and I expect them to be professional and get the three points back at the Etihad.
However, I do not expect them to blow away Newcastle after having played an intense 120 minutes of Champions League football midweek so I am adding the “Under 5 goals” market as well.
Finally, Raheem Sterling was on the bench for City’s Champions League clash but should be back in the starting lineup here and I expect him to be heavily involved in the action and get at least one shot. He had four shots against Leeds last week and is averaging two shots per game in the Premier League this season.
Combining these three selections gives us a solid bet builder and I am going to stake 1pt on that as our main bet.
Cancelo is Manchester City’s most booked player with seven yellow cards to his name this season. He also averages the most tackles (2.4) in the City squad and I can see him mistiming a tackle to pick up a yellow card as he will potentially be up against the tricky Saint-Maximim.
Joelinton is Newcastle’s most booked player with eight yellow cards to his name this season and he also averages the most fouls (1.8) in the Newcastle squad.
Combining these 2 player bookings gives us a cracking longshot @ 25/1 and I am going to stake a very small 0.25pt on that as our final bet for this game.
Best of luck if you follow these selections. Please always gamble responsibly.
