Liverpool vs. West Ham Betting Tips: Salah to hit the target as the Egyptian returns to form

Liverpool vs West Ham Odds
Liverpool will be looking to build on their victory over Manchester City last weekend as they take on West Ham at Anfield on Wednesday evening live on Amazon Prime. We’ve previewed the match and have provided you with two bets that we like the look of.
Jurgen Klopp will have been delighted to secure three points over Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday which moves them up to eight in the table, although they do have a game in-hand on some of the sides above them.
It’s also been quite a slow start to the campaign for West Ham compared to the high standards they have set over the last few years. The Hammers most recent result came on Sunday where they took a point in 1-1 draw away at Southampton. David Moyes’ side let off 25 shots in that game and will have been slightly disappointed to come away with only a point after amassing 2.05xG in comparison to that of 0.61xG from Southampton.
Diogo Jota is the latest player to be added to the lengthy injury-list at Liverpool, with the forward expected to miss the World Cup for Portugal. Luis Diaz, Arthur, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will all miss this game, while Curtis Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold both a doubt.
West Ham remain without the services of Maxwel Cornet and Nayef Aguerd, while after coming off in the Europa League last week, Craig Dawson is a slight doubt. Michail Antonio may be preferred in attack to Gianluca Scamacca.
Liverpool vs West Ham Tips
First up we are backing Mohamed Salah to have 2+ shots on target in this match at a stand-out best price of 6/5 with Unibet. Most of the other big firms have this selection priced odds-on and based on his most recent two performances Salah looks to be a player coming back into form.
Last Wednesday the Egyptian came off the bench to score the quickest hat-trick in Champions League history as his side demolished Rangers by seven goals to one. Salah then followed that up by scoring the only goal of the game against Manchester City on Sunday and and his confidence should now be returning after a slow start this term.
It’s easy to forget that Salah was head and shoulders above the rest of the league last season when it came to shots on target, recording 60 in total in 35 appearances. Salah registered 2+ shots on target in 11 of his 18 league appearances at Anfield in 2021/2022 and we think 6/5 looks a little generous on Wednesday with the same selection as short as 8/13 elsewhere.
At 13/2 we’ll also be using the Bet Builder feature from bet365 to put together something at a bit more of a price. We’ve opted for West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta to have Over 1.5 shots along with 0.5 shots on target, as well as both teams to receive a card.
The Brazilian who joined this summer from Lyon has made five starts for his new employers so far and has recorded 15 shots in that period, including a whopping eight against Southampton on Sunday. When it comes to hitting the target, Paqueta has done so in four of these five starts and we’ll be hoping he can make that five in six at Anfield.
Stuart Attwell will be the man in the middle for this game and in the 2019/2020 season he was the top-flight official with the highest yellow card per game average (4.19). Attwell then followed this up by ranking second the following season with an average of 3.87, only second to Paul Tierney with 3.90. Despite that average being a little lower at 3.60 this season we still believe he is one for the better referees when it comes to dishing out the cards.
Please gamble responsibly.
